Hi everyone,
I'm wanting to venture into making so envies with my scorpal and leftover PP from stack packs. What do I use to glue it together? Should I use red line sticky tape? or would mono multi green bottle glue work ok? How about for the flap? What do you do for it? TIA!
As for the flap, there are several products out there for envelope glue- stuff you put on that will dry but can be re-moistened when licked- like a 'regular' envelope. SU used to sell this but it was discontuned. If anyone is interested, I have a new bottle that I never used that I would love to sell. Just PM me for details.
I just use my ATG gun to seal them. I know more likely than not most people that I send my cards to aren't going to save the envelopes. So it doesn't really matter to me if they have to rip it to get into it or not.
When I make envelopes for my own use, I just use a regular glue stick to put them together. I put a stack of the pre-cut, pre-scored envelopes on an old magazine, and turn over to a clean page for each one when applying the glue.
When I am ready to insert and mail the card, I use a glue stick as well to seal the flap.

I do make most of my own envelopes. I use the Scor-Pal double sided tape for the folded flaps. I use glue stick for the flap to close it. Before having the Scor-Pal tape, I used a double sided tape I got at a stamp show last year. I use the glue stick so that people can carefully open the envelope to save it along with the card without destroying it too much. I prefer using the double sided tape on the folded flaps since it is neater and easier to apply than using glue stick for the entire envelope.
Both hold up very well during the mailing process.
Tracy,
I just checked out your blog and you do some really great wrok. I love your mom's b-day card and those pillows...oh my those pillows...they are lovely!
Thanks again for the tips on envie glue. I bought lots of those stack pack things from Joannes when I first started using PP and all the pretty papers are gone so I thought, why don't I be thrifty and make some envelopes with the stuff that's left(there's a lot that's left that I don't really like.) Thank goodness I discovered Basic Grey. Have a great day!

Aww thanks! You made my day. I've re-gifted some of the dp I didn't like from those large packs or offered it up as a RAK to people willing to pay shipping. That's another way to not waste it
