Default Envelope board

Has anyone seen the envelope board from We R Memory people in the big box craft stores anywhere? Thanks.

I have not; I just ordered one from walmart online for $16 with .97 cents shipping last Wednesday or Thursday and it was delivered on Saturday! So I figured the $16 online price is equal to using a 40% off coupon at HL or Mike's/JoAnn's and you can't beat .97 for shipping, so it was a savings for me. I think the total with tax was just over $18.

The MSRP is $19.99

I got the Stampin Up Envelope Punch board, it looks like the WRMK board but it is Stampin Up colors. It looks like it because just like Sizzix and EK Tools, We R Memory Keepers are partnered with Stampin' Up! YAY!
The reason I didn't go with the WRMK board though is too many reviews about the measurements being off and the groove not being very deep. Since I had problems with a Martha Stewart Score board for having shallow grooves that made me skip over several lines when using it, I donated that thing and didn't want to chance another.
Besides I get 20% OFF on my SU supplies, Yippee!
I really like this board and I am looking forward to getting the new roller cutting arm for my slider cutter.

Kristen, since you are the one who started the original thread and told us all about the envelope punch - I have to know, do you like yours?

TBH I have only tested it but I like it so far. I really need to double check the measurements (think they are earlier in the thread).

I have it out with my Scorpal and cutter to use.

See that is what the reviews had said about that envelope punch, that the measurements had to be rechecked each time because they were a little off (just like me!). I'm glad I went with SU's version.

Both envelope punch boards look the same to me except for the color. Why would the manufacturer (WRMK) put correct measurements on one board and not the other. It is my understanding that the same company manufactures both boards - just different colors. For some reason this does not make sense to me. Different measurements and different depths of grooves? Hmmm....

Same thing, different packaging, for marketing. WRMK wouldn't have had time to re-gig their press process to make this board significantly different for SU. The punch color just involves using a different colored plastic. However, the depth of grooves/measurements would involve new molds.

When I said about checking sizes I'm referring to earlier in threads where people have already made all the sizes and say how much room there is in the envelopes etc.

I love mine! I've now made tags, tabs, cards, and a box with it! I plan to show how many different things you can make with it. The lady from WRMK just did a video on how to make liners for your envelopes too!

Oh, and if you snug your scoring tool up to the right side of the little opening by the punch part and drag the scoring tool down, you will be right in the grove to make a straight score line?

I've looked on the web and can't find this. Do you have a link to the video?

On YouTube search for Aly Dosdall's video called, "WRMK envelope punch boardcreative envelopes."

For the tags, tabs, and pockets video, it is done by papernlaceprincess, and it's called, "We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board, Tags, Tabs and Pockets tutorial. Her's is a bit long, but detailed on how to create the items!

Other items to make are: Acordan fold envelopes, a mini album made with the envelopes...have I enabled you to buy one now?

I was able to use the SU one last night at my hostess club. We made a envelope for the A2 card. Our paper was cut 8x8. Our left edge was at the 3.5" mark on the ruler. We punched then dragged our scorer down the line. Turned counterclockwise and lined up the tick on the punch with the line just scored and proceded to score the next line and so forth. After all the lines were scored then we used the corner puncher for all four sides. We were told the trick is to go counterclockwise. You are supposed to be able to make 66 different size envelopes.

Michaels will be carrying the We R Keeper version of the envelope board. We have already received the one for the class room. A demo is set for Saturday, September 28 so I suspect that they should be coming in pretty soon. I think they will be $19.99 and hopefully you'll be able to use a coupon.

HTH

The first batch of envelope punch boards by WRMK had a few incorrect measurements printed on the top of the board. They became aware of this, and sent stickers with corrected measurements to anyone who got one of the first batch of boards and requested a sticker.

The next batch of boards by WRMK were issued with the correct measurements printed on them.

I would imagine that since the SU board came out later than the original WRMK board, the folks who made the SU board were able to use the corrected measurements to start with.

And I agree with RiverIsis, the groove is probably the same on all boards, as that would involve re-tooling the whole thing and take some time.

Check out this link too!

We R Memory Keepers Punch BOARDS!

My DH is a tool and die maker and I have worked in Powdered Metals also; they could easily make the adjustment to the orginal tooling but of course would want to sell out inventory first of what they have. I may just wait awhile before getting one and see if the groves are made alittle deeper. I am excited to see what everyone things of these.

I also created another thread that there are more BOARDS coming out too! So exciting!

Can someone take a screen shot of SU's measurements & post a picture? I picked up the WRMK'S one at Michael's today & has the new measurements but I was under the impression it would have the corrected measurements for A2. It doesn't but has the correction for an earlier typo of another size envelope.

I have the new one and the measurement I have for A2 envelopes 8 1/8th square paper and score at 3 3/4th. Made an envelope and it was perfect.

That's the same measurement I have on my board too. So the typo has to do w/ the size of the card & not the measurements?

In the video I watched the error was in about 5-6 of the different card stock sizes. But on another board they said the newer boards were printed correctly. If in doubt you can go to their website and check against what is posted there. Tool Directions. They also said you can email the company if you have wrong measurements and they will send you a sticker with correct info on it. On their website it says. "We have refined our measurements for a more accurate fit for a few of our envelopes. Most measurements have stayed the same...few have changed."
