I'm so sad...my trusty heat gun from Michaels (the pinky-purple one from Marvy) that I've had for 7 years is starting to smell funny when I use it and I've seen some smoke coming out too. I'm going to need to replace it and was wondering if any of you had one that you'd recommend? Thanks!
I have the colorizer from joanns and I know a lot of people have had trouble with them, but I have had mine for almost 3 years now and have not had a problem yet. If you order it from joanns.com you can use a 40% off coopon, I don't know if they have it in the store or not.
when my Marvy goes I will replace it with a Milwaukee or the one Stampin Up has which is made by Milwaukee. Several people here have recommended these. Julie HRR has writen about her Milwaukee several times. Here is a link to one http://www.scrapbook-creations.com/mil1400.html. I have not ordered from this site, it is just where I found it.
I had one that my mom gave me so it was about 20 years old before I finally decided to get a new one and am so glad I did. I got the SU heat gun and love it - it is one of the best, IMO.
I'm a die-hard Milwaukee heat tool/gun fan. Mine had been going for 12-13 years and never failed me. If and when it dies, only Milwaukee it will be to replace it. ;)

I agree with Julie the Milwaukee is the best. I've had mine about 14 years and it is still going strong even after being drop many times. MY DH has their industrial strength one an it has worked for also about that long. He uses it in his business almost daily. Milwaukee is the way to go!
I agree... I've had my Black Milwaukee one since I've been stamping... Which has been 25 yrs now. I've dropped it many of times and it keeps on working. Just like the Energizer Bunny. I will stick with my Milwaukee heat gun.

I had the ame purple gun for a while, but recently gave it to my mom because she wanted to try embossing. I replaced it with the SU gun. I liked both, but find that my SUP gun is a tad louder than the other. I do like that the metal nozzle is recessed into the gun...very good to keep the metal parts away from my very curious-crafters in training children (not to mention my not-so-smart cats who regularly singe their whiskers if they see a candle.).
