I think there was just the initial model, Slice, and then the Slice Elite. There is a ton of info about the Slice in the Stickie, especially at the beginning of the Stickie. This little cutter can be temperamental, kind of high maintenance.

I started out with the original slice then upgraded to the Elite...you can pick one up at Michaels right now for $39.99 the cartridges are only $4.99. I love the little thing and use it often. Have given two of my friends ones as gifts and they love them too. It is the right machine for me.
blessings.

I love mine - I use it mostly for scrapbooking. I use it with the magnetic glass cutting board (12x12) and would never trade it in. I haven't used it for embossing yet, but I do have the accessories to do it (just haven't had the need yet).

Default Slice 12X12 magnetic plate

I upgraded my "Slice" last year (haven't used it yet!) but was wondering what the difference is between the small glass plate that it comes with and the magnetic (12X12) that was mentioned. (forgot posters name, sorry.)

I have a few of the design cards and was wondering if they are coming out with any new ones? I was at Mikes over the week-end and they had them on clearance for $4.99

Thanks for your input!

Hi, if you buy the collar and the 12 x 12 magnetic glass mat, you don't have to hold the Slice. This helps to get nice clean cuts. I just bought mine from Joann.com, and love it. I think it is a must have.

Are the embossing tips a one time purchase or do they need to be replaced at times???

I LOVE my Slice. Michaels' has the cartridges for 4.99 this week so now my collection of cartridges stands at 22. I'm a card maker, I don't think I'll ever have a need for a larger cut than 4", so this is a perfect alternative to a pricier Cricut for me. Plus, the My Memories store/customer service is amazing. When my husband purchased three carts for me for Xmas, they sent him EIGHT freebie items (pen tips, marker tips, more blades).

Seem to be a one time purchase. They're dull, not sharp like a blade, so I don't see any need to replace.

I posted this in two places so hopefully I can find an answer:
Can anyone tell me if you can use the Applique Basics in the regular slice to cut paper? Or do you need the green slice?
thanks in advance.
Blessings.

from what I understand, you can use the cartridges intended for the Fabrique in the Elite.
