I have found I don't like the results I get with my Sizzix. Since the folder doesn't roll through in one continuous motion like with a Cuttlebug or Big Kick etc. you have to move your folder/paper forward to be able to emboss the entire card. If you don't get it just right this causes the top area you've already embossed to be smashed. I borrowed my friend's Big Kick to use with my embossing folders recently and the results were so much better.
I've asked for a Cuttlebug for Christmas!
Hope this explanation makes sense. Maybe someone knows how to use their Sizzix with the embossing folders better than I do.

Thank you Mars671. You post is a big help because I am expected several gift certificates for Christmas and I am thinking about using them to purchase a Cuttlebug. I just love the different embossing folders I see for the Cuttlebug. I think it is a must have for me. LOL

Default Cuttlebug/Sizzix Question

I use a Sizzix Big Shot for my Cuttlebug embossing folders and have had no problems! You just have to try the plates that come with it and put the embossing folder in between them and then roll it through.

I used CB folders in my Sizzix before finally getting a CB and I must agree with the poster above - I did not get the most consistent results using my Sizzix. The reason why is because the CB folders are longer than the pressure plate on the sizzix, so you need to lower the arm, slide, and lower the arm again (sometimes three times) to get your impression. And sometimes one press of the handle isn't as strong as the other two presses, no matter how hard you try to be consistent and apply the same amount of pressure with each pass, and it ends up showing on the finished card stock. Once I got my CB, since the pressure is consistent all the way through the entire pass, and the images came out MUCH better. Hope this helps.

I love my cuttlebug. I use all brands and so far havent had any problems. It is sooooooo easy to use and it has a little collapsible handle to carry/move it.
The embossing folders are affordable and extemely cute!

I haven't had any problems using the CB embossing folders with my sizzix. I am happy with the results.

I hate using my sizzix for embossing folders. I never could get the darn thing to look even. Half would be smashed and the other half looked great. I just waited and bought my cuttlebug with a 50% off coupon for like $37. That was well worth it for me. I actually got rid of my sizzix because with the CB, I couldn't see any use for it anymore.
