Thanks Ilvcards for your input, do you have any problems using the dies with the intricate designs, as they some times take a lot of shimes or the cb metal plate. I have a problem with my CB turning the handle and getting it to go through. I am interested in all feedback, please.

I use it for my Nesties and some of them are pretty intricate. So far no problems.

Thanks for the info, the ones I have the most problems with are the Cheery Lynn dies, I do have the metal plate that helps a lot. I love my CB and am addicted to all the pretty things that are coming out. I have a couple of metal folding doors to a walk-in closet and that is where I have my spellbinders I use magnetic tape that they hang on. The are very handy that way. Thanks again for you help. Joan

What is the CB metal plate and how do you use it for the inticate dies? Is it magnetic? Also, IS there a hard, magnetic metal plate out there? Where do I get these?
Thanks, Sue

Hi all! So... I have the old cuttlebug. I got some some new embossing folders for christmas (love crafty supply surprises from the DH!!!) but one of them he ordered is this one:

Amazon.com: Cuttlebug All-In-One Embossing Plates, Cupcake Celebration: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

the new "all-in-one" type. Hmmm, I have no idea if my old cuttlebug can use this folder? It is wide enough? And won't the pegs leave marks in the paper? I must be missing something... ????

It will work but you need this: Amazon.com: Cuttlebug All-In-One 6-Inch by 9-Inch Folder: Arts, Crafts & Sewing to use it.

Hi dlandau I have not used the Hearts a Flutter ones but have used other SU Framelits in my CB. The sandwich that I use is...bottom to top...

A Plate
B Plate
Paper
Die (cut side down)
C Plate

Some people switch them around so that the die is on the B plate (cut side UP) and then paper and then C plate but since my B plates are all already messed up from cutting, this one keeps my C plate prettier Plus if you are framing around an image that is stamped, for me, it's easier to line it up with the Framelit on top rather than on the bottom

hey everyone --

wondering if anyone has a solution -- i recently bought the square - flip-its, sizzix die - using it in my cuttlebug. i'm having a hard time - it doesn't matter what kind of cardstock, or how heavy - i put in, the scored lines are scored so deeply they are cut, or break apart when i fold it - not always, but sometimes. any suggestions???

Use the crease pad for the top plate: Sizzix.com - Sizzix Accessory - Premium Crease Pad, Extended
You have to trim about 1/8" off for it to fit in the CB.

Here's Stephanie's video where she talks about it: Stamping Tip with Stephanie from The {Stamps} of Life: Flip-It dies, Crease Pad, Movers and Shapers - YouTube

That was a great video, but the flip-it die looked too wide for a cudddlebug, judging by how much if filled the big shot. Has cuddlebug gotten wider?

I use the flip-it dies in my Cuttlebug (version 1) The opening of the BS is only about a 1/2" wider than the CB.

I use the CUTTLEBUG Extended plates. A couple of places you can get them:

Cuttlebug - Marco's Paper

Provo Craft - Cuttlebug Accessories

I have this and got it when it was first offered. I bought it because I loved the folders and the only way I could get them was get the machine as well - I already had a Cuttlebug. So now I have two!

The folders are now being offered by ProvoCraft and I believe even sold in stores. The one advantage was if you got autoship, they waived shipping on the future orders. I also had a coupon and got a discount so it wasn't a bad deal. The machine is pretty, if that matters, but it works like the old one and you know how reliable a Cuttlebug is!!

In short, Anna's beautiful folders can't be beat, they are just lovely, and they come with matching borders which are a plus. So, hope this helps, and good luck on your decision.

Tara, do you have a regular cuttlebug? You can use Anna Griffin's folders on it. Not sure if I would spend 129 even if it comes with folders - probably because I got such a great deal many years ago on my cuttlebug... only $39 w/free shipping and am happy with it.

It comes down to your personal choice.

I have this from the original offer also. I like it, but the handle folds into the machine and when you are turning it you have to put a little pressure toward the machine or it will fold into the machine. I also wanted the Anna Griffin folders, but I bought one at JoAnn's that was beautiful. They work great in the old version Cuttlebug or the new one. The gold color is beautiful. Good luck whatever you decide.

Is anyone else having a problem with the cuttlebug cutting through the score lines when using the pop n cuts inserts? I had an issue with the dress form pop n cut from SU, and now am having the same issue with the newMug & Hearts insert

I found out I had to make certain that my cardstock was heavier than most. SU cardstock seems to work just fine. Good luck.

I use a crease pad: Sizzix.com - Sizzix Accessory - Premium Crease Pad, Standard

I trimmed a tiny bit off - laid a B plate on it and used my craft knife.

Default UK only embossing folders

I am looking for a couple of embossing folders that I am only seeing on U. K. sites. Are there Cuttlebug items sold there that are not sold here?

I have found that if we don't have them now-we will get them soon. Can you be more specific? There are so many manufacturers now that make CB usable embossing folders.

I am having trouble with the fringe flower die set. When I use the suggested sandwich (ABC) I can't get it to go through the machine and anything else I've tried won't cut the fringe. Is anyone else having problems? Any suggestions?

Default Cuttelbug and Impression Obsession Dies

Hi! Has anyone worked with the Impression Obsession dies and the cuttlebug? I've just discovered these dies (still very new to card making) and love them but I've been sort of hearing they don't work as well with the Cuttlebug. Thanks!

Have not tried these dies however, have found that with many dies you have to find the right "sandwich". Perhaps you could call Cuttlebug for info.

I just received the beautiful Valentine die and had no problem. Starting at the bottom I used the A plate, C plate, then the die face up with card stock on top then a B plate. It cut beautifully. I've read that each CB is different in tension so you may have to include a shim like maybe another piece of card stock between plates or something thicker.
