I have the older ones by Fiskars; they are blue. They do have a wave one. I have used it with my cuttlebug without any problem. You do have to add extra chipboard as a shim.
Does anyone else have issues with their Cuttlebug not cutting very intricate dies correctly? I purchased the Fleur de Lis squares this weekend and tried several times to cut it out using different weight cardstock, and although it cuts the exterior of the box, the interior portion doesn't cut all of the way through. I even tried adding a shim, and running the die through several times, gut it still doesn't work. The same thing happened with a dress frame form from La-La Lands crafts.
I don't have any problem cutting simple dies such as circles, squares, ovals, etc., it's just the intricate ones. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Please try using a shim and running through Cuttlebug a few times. Here is a link to our Youtube video with some tips on cutting our dies - La-La Land Crafts TV {New product - DIES!} - YouTube. Hope this helps.
I bought these at the weekend, and was going to try playing about with sandwiches later, so thanks for the one you've posted, I will be trying that one first.
I used the Holiday Frame Textured Impression folder last night (the one in the holiday mini) with Vanilla cardstock in the Cuttlebug. I got little creases around the edges of the impression. I tried it with other colored stock which is a bit heavier and did not get the creases. Has this happened to anyone and if so, is it because the Vanilla cardstock is a bit thinner?

Yes, that is part of it. The size of the fiber makes a difference too. you can always play with the sandwich and make it just a bit thinner to rectify the problem.

I have those plates too but don't need a shim. I do spritz the paper with water to get a crisper impression though. I do this with all of the texture plates from all of the companies. The Fiskar set of plates also contains a raindrop and scale (as in fish scales) plate. I purchased mine about 2 years ago and used a half off coupon so it was a great deal!

I have the orginal Cuttlebug and I have used it till I am having to shim a lot when cutting out Cherry Lynn dies. I am thinking about getting a Cuttlebug V2. I have noticed that the feed plate is a lot shorter than the orginal, also the handle is thinner. I have some shoulder issues when I have to do some serious cranking the handle. Has anyone purchaced the CBV2 and do you like it. I would be interested in the pros and cons of it. Thanks for your feed back. Joan

I too have shoulder problems, 2 surgeries and Fibromyalgia. I have a Cuttlebug V2 and love it. I haven't had any problems so far, it just takes a little getting used to with the handle folding in and out. Hope this helps.

Thanks Ilvcards for your input, do you have any problems using the dies with the intricate designs, as they some times take a lot of shimes or the cb metal plate. I have a problem with my CB turning the handle and getting it to go through. I am interested in all feedback, please.

Thanks for the info, the ones I have the most problems with are the Cheery Lynn dies, I do have the metal plate that helps a lot. I love my CB and am addicted to all the pretty things that are coming out. I have a couple of metal folding doors to a walk-in closet and that is where I have my spellbinders I use magnetic tape that they hang on. The are very handy that way. Thanks again for you help. Joan
What is the CB metal plate and how do you use it for the inticate dies? Is it magnetic? Also, IS there a hard, magnetic metal plate out there? Where do I get these?
Thanks, Sue
Hi all! So... I have the old cuttlebug. I got some some new embossing folders for christmas (love crafty supply surprises from the DH!!!) but one of them he ordered is this one:
the new "all-in-one" type. Hmmm, I have no idea if my old cuttlebug can use this folder? It is wide enough? And won't the pegs leave marks in the paper? I must be missing something... ????

Hi dlandau I have not used the Hearts a Flutter ones but have used other SU Framelits in my CB. The sandwich that I use is...bottom to top...
A Plate
B Plate
Paper
Die (cut side down)
C Plate
Some people switch them around so that the die is on the B plate (cut side UP) and then paper and then C plate but since my B plates are all already messed up from cutting, this one keeps my C plate prettier Plus if you are framing around an image that is stamped, for me, it's easier to line it up with the Framelit on top rather than on the bottom

wondering if anyone has a solution -- i recently bought the square - flip-its, sizzix die - using it in my cuttlebug. i'm having a hard time - it doesn't matter what kind of cardstock, or how heavy - i put in, the scored lines are scored so deeply they are cut, or break apart when i fold it - not always, but sometimes. any suggestions???
