I just brought myself a Bosskut die for my cuttlebug and was just wondering how do I use it in the machine. Also can I take the foam bit of the die.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I am so confused about all of these machines. Am thinking of buying one,but I do not understand the difference between the cuttlebug and the Big Shot. Also can anybody explain to me what nestabilities are. I would appreciate any help or suggestions,Thanks!

andikup, I would highly suggest you get a bigshot! It is a much better maching and can easily cut more things than the cuttlebug. I had one of the first cuttlebugs and I loved it so much but finally had to give in to the sturdier, more useful machine - the bigshot.

And Nesties are thin pieces of metal that cut shapes out and you can emboss the edge as well. I haven't tried these in my new bigshot, should do that today. Oh what fun it is to craft on a dark and rainy day

I have a bug and like it very much but if you like the new stampin' up long dies then a big shot would probably be better. go to spellbinders.com to see all of the nestabilities dies. They are wonderful! These are probably the hottest selling dies on the market from looking at all of the cards people upload here at SCS.

The stampin' up dies work great in the bug. I have many of the Bigz dies, sizzlits and the texturz plates and they all work. The texturz plates need to be used with the impressions pad and the silicone mat. I like them better than CB embossing folders because of their size and the impressions are just as good as CB folders if you use the pad and silicone mat. I have made several items using them already and posted on my blog under glitz and glitter, chocolate challenge as well as other postings that will be out next week.
I made all sorts of Christmas tags and things with die cuts this past Christmas too Stampin' Up and nesties.

I have had the original Sizzix machine and I own the cuttlebug and I love my cuttlebug. Also the nesties is short for nestabilities made by spellbinders. Go here to see. Also come on over to the cuttlebug challenge blog for some neat projects you can create.

Default Cuttlebug compatible with Sizzix Sizzlits extended dies?

This may have already been asked, but I am trying to figure out if the cuttlebug can cut the extended Sizzlits dies (the narrow ones) if I use the narrow Sizzix extended plates in the cuttlebug? There are some dies that I would love to use, but I don't want to waste the money on them if they won't work in my bug.

I bit the bullet and bought a CB today! I think it was the 20% discount Ritz is giving...compared to the price I would have paid at my LSS. I desperately wanted a Cricut Expressions, but cannot justify the expense for how much use it would probably get (full-time job, caregiver for 91-year-old father)...

I'm excited though! Can't wait to try it out!

Default Yeah for You!

I have a Cricut, a Silhouette, a Spellbinder (Wizard?), Sizzix and CB, and in my opinion the CB is the best buy. I use it the most because it is quick and easy, done..., and without expensive cartridges, etc. The Cricut and Silhouette are wonderful machines, but are more complicated, require time to set up and produce and I often have trouble with them not cutting cleanly and wasting paper. I use several die cut types in the Cuttlebug with great results, and just use that machine because of the convenience and beautiful results. I hope you enjoy your machine even half as much as I enjoy mine and it will be worth it's weight in gold!

I have a silhouette gathering dust, I wanna sell it but the sad part is I brought it for $399.00 at a major online store that still sell it for that price, later I found most site sells it from 199-249. within a month, that store has no returns unless it's defective.... I'm still thinking of selling it and take a major loss.

Have you guy's seen this tut?

Welcome to the club! Do NOT buy every single alphabet. Buy 1 or 2 of your most favorite. Maybe half a dozen of the dies. Every folder? Hell yeah!

I have a question. Does anyone know if you can use the NEW Sizzix Pop Up Dies in the cuttlebug? I have a customer who is asking and I don't have the cuttlebug to be able to tell her. I would appreciate any input you may have. Thanks so much!

Bibby, I went to Michael's today on my lunch. They didn't even HAVE any alphabets (that I could see)...but I still managed to spend about $50 on dies and embossing folders. (I wonder if I'll have room to stamp when I'm living in my car with my cat!)

Default QuicKuts cookie cutter dies

I have been looking at a QicKuts cookie cutter die of flourishes which I rather fancy, but when I looked at my pages of Bug stacks I couldn't see this particular one, only Grand and Regular in the QicKuts brand. Can anyone tell me if it would work OK?

Jan R, I think that they will work in the bug, but I'm not sure the sandwich to use. I'm sure someone who has them will respond shortly. I don't about the chipboard either. I am really no help at all, but just wanted to assure you that some nice person will answer soon!

My Sandwich stack rules suggests:
Plate "A", Plate "C", Die (Cutting side up), Chipboard, Cardstock Shim, Plate "B" This is for QuickKuts Dies (Regular)
Is this what you were looking for?

it can be used in the Bug (a,c,die, cardstock, B) but it can't quite cut chip board.. cos the dies are not as thick as the cuttlebug ones..

Default PHOTO CORNER DIE

I have this die, and for the life of me, cannot figure out how to utilize it properly!

I have 'cuttled' it several times to try and play with the shape, but not with any success. It is driving me batty!

I haven't looked through all the pages, but if someone can post a page number, or post/link a picture of how they have used it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Help me please,
Jamey

Is it the 2x2 Vintage Dies? If so, I have used those before, but I'm not sure what the Photo Corner Die is. Have you got a photo?

I've seen this question asked before here on SCS and nobody really knew. So, I just googled it and found this.

On I see, it cuts two corners. One is L-shaped and fits one corner, and the other is triangular and fits the opposite corner. Check out the picture in the link above. No ribbon, people.

Now I am not so sure after looking at the link again though, but I am sure there is no ribbon.
