UNDER the folder, not inside. I did try inside but it's pretty thick and it didn't close right plus it won't be centered that way. You just have to give it a try to see which combinations of plates and shims work best too. Here's my stack from bottom up;
A plate,
Shim (from embossing folder package)
Shim (from photo mat package)
Photo Mat
folder with cardstock inserted
B plate
Hope this helps!

This sandwich works for me and saves time. If you want to only cut: a place, c plate, nesties face up (ridge), c/s, b plate.

Good luck-nesties are fun to use.

I have never used the plates from Fiskars, so I have no idea. I know people have used them in a Bug, so the sandwich should be similar, but I haven't tried.

I'm sure they can! I would guess the sandwich would be (from the bottom up)
A plate
embosslit (the label will tell you which side down)
* (you might end up needing a shim here, but try without it first)
B plate.

I gave my Bug to my sister this past summer, when I got my SU Big Shot, so I can't tell you for sure, sorry!

Does anyone know if the new SU! texturz plates fit in the cuttlebug.

I want the plates but I don't have the Bigshot. All I have is the cuttlebug and I love it.

for JAN R & all: I found this while surfing this morning re: Jan's post: I am very interested in being able to have a "blank" shape in the centre of my cuttlebug embossing folders like is suggested here but I am getting nowhere.

this link will help you get the blank spot... R

Kathryn and Scrappywonder, thanks so much for that. I have a circle bug die that I could make the frames with so I will try it. That Utube tutorial is great and I must look for some more of that sort of thing. I have often thought of getting some nestabilities but would find it hard to choose which ones to start with! What are everyone's most used? It's hard to know because I find myself with a lot of bug dies that I hardly ever use and some real favourites I use all the time.

I have just ordered a CB and want to get some Nestabilities to use with it. I would also like some feedback as to which ones might be the best ones to begin with. I was thinking of the large scalloped ovals set and small standard ovals set. Any suggestions?

I got one this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooo happy with it. I was SHOCKED at how easy it was to slide through. I swore it wasnt doing anything and then I looked at my paper and the embossing was soooo pretty. I am so so excited. I think the reason I like this so much is it is so much cheaper than the rest of the machines. (I suppose technically it's not a machine) - the folders are so cheap and the die cuts are pretty cheap too. plus, it can't ever 'break' like a computer can - this is a manual machine and if certain pieces break, it isnt very expensive to resolve. I got it at AC moore with a half off coupon. yay!!!

8 for $25!! WOW..

I use my scalloped ovals and scalloped squares the most and I also love the scalloped hearts.

Am I suppose to have an imprint of the die design on one of my cutting plates, not a crack, but I can feel it? Or did I do something wrong. I had the foam side up...

Try to keep that plate at your "cut into" plate. That way your other one will always be clear and you can see through it. I eventually messed up and have lovely cuts into both.

Every other week they offer free shipping with a coupon code if your order is more than $ 25.00. They also have a 'Free Shipping Club" . You have to put 3 orders in at Joann.com with a total of $ 35.oo before S&H and tax and after that 3rd order all you have to do is sign in into your account on their website and it gives you free shipping automatically. I have been doing it for a couple of years now. We were stationed in Japan and I ordered from them a lot.

HTH

Here is the link to all of the info

I found one for $35 and free shipping that had expired. I ended up finding this one that worked: EML030

You can use it for $25 but I ended up purchasing $35 lol

I don't know for sure, but most likely it will go on for 2009. Last year it was the same way. They did not put it on the website until like mid February.
They still have the "Free Shipping Club" thingy on the bottom of the page. If you want to be sure, you could e-mail customer service. I ordered twice already (gotta hide that second order from hubby ) so I'll try to remember to post if I get my free shipping after my 3rd order or not.

Also, forgot to say that if you sign up for the e-mail newsletter you'll get the newest coupons directly delivered into your inbox.

If anyone has a spare medal I think I deserve it! LOL. The last two days I have sat and read every post on this thread from beginning to end! Wish I had started to keep count of how many times the same questions were asked! LOL. I did have the Australian Open Tennis on TV too and as it is so hot here in Adelaide at the moment one can't do much else. 45c degrees the last couple of days and expected for a week (about 113 farenheight). Every now and then I would dash up to my craft room and try something, DH thought I was nuts, but that's nothing new. I feel I have learnt a lot and have checked out a lot of the online stores that have been mentioned. I have bought most of my bug stuff from U.S. Ebay, of course that's when our Aussie dollar was worth nearly as much as yours! The exchange is lousy at the moment and some sellers have good prices on the items but overcharge on postage. Often the postage costs more than the item. I have dealt with Oh My Crafts quite a bit and had no trouble BTW. I have decided I must have some nestabilities but will start off with just one or two sets. I thought maybe the large scalloped ovals and the plain ones. Does anyone who has them think these are good to start with?

I can't believe you read over 2000 posts! Wow! I also can't believe how warm it is there. I know it is summer time for you but since it has been so darn cold here, your warms temps seem incredible! We actually got above zero today for the first time in weeks. A couple of days ago it was 47 below - just plain air temperature, not including wind chill!

I have no medals, but I salute you!

And thank you! Found it a little repetitive, eh???

The ovals are a great start. Enjoy!

What sandwich did you use?

I would try misting the cardstock with water, and possibly inserting a shim. I use two embossing pads, one shim, and i mist the cardstock before I run it through, and it looks great!

From bottom to top:
A Plate
Texture Plate
Cardstock - misted with water, mist-side down
tan embossing pad (wizard or similar) x2!
Chipboard shim - from a cereal box i think
B Plate

Love the look, but only if you mist first! I use a heat gun to dry it out, and you can actually press it beneath something heavy without ruining your original impression!

I think my problem was I wasn't using an embossing pad - I didn't use that for the CB folders so didn't think I needed it for the SU text. plates. Makes sense though. I'll give that a try.

thanks!

I love my "Nesties". Just bought the hearts for Valentines Day cards, but had the circles, ovals and squares.

I went to Joann's today for some Cuttlebug dies/embossed folders and they told me they didn't carry them any more! I went to Michael's and found so many on clearance...$2.00 for some and $59.00 for alphabet sets that were originally $79.00. The clerk gave me a 50% off coupon and I ended up getting the alphabets for 50% off the clearance price! Wonderful day....

If this has been asked my apologies my "search" has not brought up anything. Is there a way to use CB Embossing folder and cover more than a 4.25 X 5.5 or smaller cardstock?
