Default Cutting machine question

Could anyone tell me if there is a cutting machine that allows you to type in a word and have the machine automatically merge the letters together to cut as a single piece?

The silhouette Cameo software doesn't do it automatically, I would be surprised if any software does it automatically, as it would depend on how much you wanted it to 'merge' or join together.

You can download the Silhouette software and try it out. You just won't be able to cut anything without a machine. But, you'll be able to use the software and see how easy it is to create joined words and make shadows.

There's lots of tutorials out there. Here's one from Silhouette School, a popular Silhouette user site.

You can do the same for the Brother Scan n Cut either using the free Canvas program (requires an internet connection) or using SCAL4 (SCAL=Sure Cuts A Lot). SCAL4 will let you weld (join) letters in any font on your computer and cut the result on any of the wide range of machines which it supports. You can download a copy of SCAL to try out for ease of use.

I don't know of a machine which does welded words without the help of some other piece of software. Do you mind using a computer to design your patterns, or are you particularly looking for a machine-only solution?
