Has anyone heard when the Cricut Expression 2 will be available? I want to upgrade from my baby Cricut to one capable of doing 12x12 but if a new one is available soon I will wait.

Thank you again "davesgram". That is pretty much the same news I've read about it but the articles do not mention when it will be available. I need to know! LOL

What is the difference between a Cricuit and Cricuit Expression?
The Expression is the larger one and uses a 12x12 cutting mat. The regular Cricut and Cricut Create is smaller and uses a 6x12 cutting mat. Some people call the smaller Cricut the Baby Bug.

I'm in a brain fog so help me please - I already have DS for my cricut and am happy with it and the carts I have can I run SCAL along with it or is it an either or situation? (warranties for my products are long over so I just want to know if I can have the best of both worlds if I so choose).

SCAL does not work with the Cricut cartridges, but it does allow you to cut all sorts of images and fonts that you have downloaded onto your computer. I use it and really like it. I use my Gypsy to design with my Cricut cartridges. It would be neat if there was one program that could do it all.
Provo Craft just announced that they will be opening up a Cricut Craft Room, which will be an online design studio and we will be able to create and cut from their whole library of images. That would be great! If you would like to read the information here is the link: Cricut News

To use an SVG file you need a third party software, SCAL or Make the Cut (MTC).
I can only go on the software I have MTC, that you can cut many types of files besides SVG. I don't know about SCAL.

This is not quite accurate. According to the "Cricut News", you can create from the whole library of images, but will only be able to cut out images from cartridges that you own.

Darn, I misread that. I was wondering how they were going to make money on that kind of a deal, and now I know. That isn't going to be any different really then the Design Studio.

Correction: You will be able to create with their whole library, but only cut with the cartridges that you have.
If you want to know more there is this facebook group "Cricut Craft Room Users", it should tell you more, probably yahoo groups that will talk you through it as well. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=...37322842998601
What is better-the Cricut Expression 2 or the Cricut Imagine? Do you think Provocraft will be coming out with an Imagine 2 soon? Will the Expression 2 be able to print? I am very excited and can't wait to get one of these, but I want to make sure I make the right choice. Where do you suggest buying them? I want to get the best price possible. Someone told me that she doesn't have to spend $90 on the cartridges and can get them for $20 or $40. Do you know where that might be? Thanks!
Just got an email from "All things Cricut"...site that sales cartridges for 50%to70% off. Anyone ever dealt with them before. Looks like they just open up 2-2011....a bit worried they might not be safe? Looking for someone who knows anything. There is no message about being new...and have no idea where they got my address? Help...really good deals...Maybe?
Katzkreationzaz: CricutMachine.com......did you have any trouble with your credit card at that site. Just read people were having some problems...with their cards and had to close them? How was your experience?

I did a comparison of cuts with the personal and the expression. I have posted here about how my E cuts weird. Today I was able to make room so I can have both machines out and decided to do the same cut in both. Check it out on my blog: Stamps and Stitches: Cricut-expression vs personal

I have purchased from them at least a half a dozen times and my best friend as many and neither one of us has had any problems. I work in identity theft so I am very careful about companies I deal with and have never had any problem except for pizza delivery. May I suggest never using your debit card for pizza delivery as my money ended up in Istambul without me! but no problem with cricutmachine.com.
I have used my expression power cord on both the baby bug and the expression with no problems.
Someone just posted in another thread that they weren't able to get their expression to work using the baby bug's cord. Maybe it goes only one way and not the other.

Does anyone have experience using bulletin board paper in the Cricut? I have the new Quarter Note cart and want to decorate my classroom with large images. I would imagine because it is so thin that I would need to use a slow setting and low pressure. Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
