Shell,
Do you use this for wall words? And what other projects do you use it for? Just curious so i can get ideas for mine when it comes. Love the color selections of the site you sent!! When I ordered some sheets of vinyl off ebay, they didn't offer dark brown, so I got all black.

And wall shapes .... I use it in my Haven (stamp room) and on the walls in my Sunday school room (painted concrete block walls - that NOTHING sticks on), and it works GREAT. I love it. I have some pictures on my blog ... Here are a few pictures.
Shell,
I looked at your blog and I am even more excited about my vinyl coming soon in the mail! I just got a cricut and just last night I cut a couple shapes with it to see how it works. I also subscribed to your blog... we have some stuff in common! I too, homeschool, teach SS, am a Christian, and so on!

I used some of the Wall Pops (from Lowes) on there, too, but either one works great for the purpose. It is SOOOO fun to use and play with. I hope you have fun with it Janice!
Cool!!! How old are your kids?? It will be good to get to know you.

I need help! I cannot get my personal cricut to cut thru cs from Wal-mart or SU cardstock I have the blade and speed settings on 5. Any advice? This thing is new to me and I have to say I was very discouraged with it when I couldn't cut the cs I chose for my project. So I found a lighter weight paper and went with that.

Hi.. I'm still new with my cricut I got for Christmas but I have an Idea. Did you try to change the pressure knob? When you drop the door down, there is two knobs on the left it will be the bottom one.

Yes, I had the setting on 5.

I keep mine on 6 so that it will cut SU cardstock.
Thanks brighthll and shell,
I didn't know you could adjust the actual brass blade thingy... I just put it in like the directions said with the arrow pointing towards me, and left it, adjusting only the white lower dial on the left of the outside of the unit. I will go check it out and let you know if I was able to make it work. Thanks!

I can't believe I'm gonna be Mrs Cricut Expression!!! lol. I won, I won, I can't believe it yet but I did.... I've been watching several Cricut expression this past months... well from December. I tried to bid on a couple of them but I would always loose... Well this beautiful morning, on the sunny side of the island, I went for it. the bid was $240. and there's 8 min left. I couldnt stop refreshing the page and watching the count down.... 20 secs left and there's 17 bidders. it went up to 260.00.......heart pounding, then I placed my bid 263.00. ding ding ding ding...... I won!!!! shipping to Hawaii is 39.00 I say not bad. I called each Walmart here but they said the Cricut Expression wont be here till May, and it's 340.00. I'm glad I waited for the Expression, I almost bought the Cricut original... im sure its a great machine too... but i wanted the bigger badder machine.lol. so i can create bigger bags, boxes, and tags.... yum yum... Im just so happy ....
I'm still waying the pros and cons of the Cricut vs. the Cuttlebug vs. the Wizard. What I really want are the Nestibilities. I can't find where anyone has used the Nestibilities with a Cricut. Is that possible? Do they work together?
Hi,
I use the Nesties in my cuttlebug all the time. There are many sites that give you the layers to emboss and also cut with these. As for the Cricut I have to be honest I don't use it all that much lately, you would use their cartridges only with it, you can not use the nesties with it.
I made my decision and bought the Cuttlebug cuz I got it half off at Michaels! They weren't too happy, but I'm so grateful to have read on a thread that we could try to convince them they were wrong when they said we couldn't use the 50% off coupon because it was a Cricut product. When I showed them right on the box that it says made by Provo Craft not Cricut, and it only says, "by the makers of Cricut" they agreed! Not too happily, but they agreed to do it, "this time".
Thanks you guys - you saved me $40 by me reading the threads here about it! You are awesome!
create scalloped edged cards? Like 6x6 size. I love the look of scalloped edged cards. Is this an option with the cricut?
I am going to get one.. I am trying to decide between the small and big one. I am just starting to scrapbook and used alphalicious on a friends.. fell in love. so now i have to have a Cricut for all my alphas. I will never run all those diecuts through my BigShot again (although she is a very dear friend, she will now have new uses.. for chipboard!)
but I want to have card making uses for the cricut too... so I was thinking what else could I do? scalloped edged cards maybe? and what are the boxes and tags? is that a separate cartridge?

I bought a new cricut and my very first try, my cardstock, stuck to the new mat so bad, I had to peel it off in layers..it took hours. I'm afraid to try again. And my brand new mat look like-blankity, blank......Is this normal?....
Return it....I have seen that there are problems with some of the mats...I have taken fabric and stuck that on first just a little to try to take some of the stick off, but I did have 2 that did that also. They even looked a little different when I took them out of the package. Make sure if you get a new one, that it looks clear not cream or has a yellow tinge...I don't mean the mat is clear but the finish is.

I don't think she can just return the mat-it came with her cricut. She could return the entire cricut but the new one would likely have the same mat problem. She should contact PC and they will send her new mats.

hello cricut lovers.....I have had mine for about 2 weeks, and i also purchased the design studio, well its awesome, but my question is...Although its great using the software for the designing part of it before cutting, i guess i am a bit disappointed that all the new release cartridges are not in the software. Is there an upgrade somewhere i can install so i have all the cartridges on the design studio, or are they going to make you buy add on software?? I have not yet hooked up to computer to cut, i like to play and design then have been lucky enough to cut without connecting to cpu. any advice? Thanks again ladies

Yes ... the new carts are on the upgrade which is on the Cricut site.
I love my software and very, very rarely cut without it. I love being able to place things EXACTLY where I want them on the mat. Have fun with it all!
Thank you very much, wow! there are alot of instructionon thei hope its easier than it appears, but will give it a go....I can't ruin anything can i?? lol
Just play with it, MsKitty. Get a feel for it before you decide to try it on paper. If you have questions, feel free to ask. A good place for those questions is .... http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...93#post9470193
Since I'm sort on time and I would like to go through this entire thread to find my answer but can't...I thought I'd just ask it. Sorry if It's been asked before!
I was cutting with the tags cartridge and I wanted the little pouch that is shown on page 113 in the book. I can't get it to cut vertically and give me a bigger pouch. It only cuts it hortizontally and I get a pouch pattern that it 5", but when it is folded up to make the pouch it is a tiny 2.5" x 2" pouch that nothing fits in.
Is there any way to get it to cut bigger and vertically????
Just got my circut last night! Yes I stayed up past my bed time to play. LOL
Hope to learn lots from all of you thats had yours for a while. What cartriges do you like best?
Thanks,
Pam
