what cartridge cuts an A2 envelope. I've had people guessing, but does anyone know for sure? I'd love to use my Stampin' Up! dspaper to make envelopes for my cards (1/4 sheet)
It's been a while since I used my Expression ~ that is soon to change, just ordered Wild Card and am considering Stand & Salute ~ but I do remember making envelopes with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge before.
hope that helps.
~ Pam

I don't do this on my cricut, but here is what I use with my scor pal.
Line corners of an 8 1/2" square on the six inch mark and score @ 3 1/2 and 8 1/2.
Then line the other set of corners up and score at 3" and 9".
Cut out the small triangle notches formed at the score intersections.
I love the scallop edge on my cards and scrapbook, however I am struggling with making it even or to the size of my card. For example the loop at the bottom of the scallop is not the exact size of my standard card, thus loop is cut in half, or when making a scallop border on cricut in 12x12, I can't make the scallop 12" long to fit the page and once again the loops are not complete. I have seen many pages and cards done with scallops....I know SU sells 2 punches that make the scallop border, but I thought could use cricut instead of buying all these punches! Thanks
Thanks for the link. I'm ordering this. This tool makes making envelopes so easy. I have tons of scrapping paper I won't use that I want to make envelopes out of.
has anyone cut fabric esp Quilt squares out with their cricut? I saw the tool called accuquilt - I dont want another machine for my sewing. Can i do this on the cricut? I have SCAL so I can import quilt shapes into it.
Well i was thinking what if I wanted to make a king size quilt that had 4x4 squares, gosh i would need alot of squares. That would need alot of washing an ironing.
There must be an easier way? Isnt there a 12 x 12 hand roller cutter coming out? I just cut some fabric with a nestie die and it worked great. But OMG image cutting 500 squares with my cuttle bug!
To cut fabric with the Expression or Cricut, you should first iron it on a double sided fusible webbing. Or in the case of wanting the quilt squares to sew together, just use the one sided fusible webbing.
In any case, you need a backing on the fabric to keep it stiff so it will lay flat and adhere to the sticky mat.
It's best to use a cotton fabric or cotton blend fabric.

Patti
double sided fusible webbing need to find this-- thanks so much!
FYI There's a gal on the Cricut message boards who has a talented hubby who can make custom pen holders for the Cricut. He's made one to hold the gel pens from Staples ($6 for 12 pens). The price is $25 for the holder. It's made from metal and looks very professional; not some jury-rigged thing at all.
She's checking the interest level for a holder to hold the Sharpie minis. I'm in for this! If you are, too, please go post there so she knows people are interested. I don't know how many she needs to make it worth her DH's while, but the more interest we show, the better luck we'll have getting a holder for the Sharpies.
I bought the stamping & sheets & embossing folder kits, too, and have never used them. The stamping sheets look easy enough. I found this info posted somewhere. I saved it but I can't remember where I got it.

Thanks for the information. I tried to use the stamping materials with the cuttlebug. Cut an image using a small cuttlebug, it cut the stamp out very easily, however when I tried to stamp with it, the image didn't stamp very well. I used versifine ink and used the hold the stamp image and then apply ink and then stamp, but it was a poor, really poor stamped image.
Also you have to use the deep cut blade and housing to cut on the cricut.
Am going to try cutting an embossing image with a sizzix and attempt to make that into a impression folder.
Again on the cricut you have to cut with the deep cut blade and it's special housing.
I am trying to do something that will give me a little return on my money. I purchased my sets at Scrapbook USAA and they were 4.00 compared to store price of 14.98.
Does anyone know how to "renew" your cricut cutting board. Mine has paper dust, etc. on it, and I've got a class next weekend. Thanks to anyone who can help me.
My wonderful husband is buying me a Cricut Expression for my birthday, and my mother has offered to buy my Original machine from me. It's almost 2 years old but in great shape. I'm including all of the mats I have (2 unopened packs, plus the mat I'm currently using). I'm not including any of the cartridges, but I plan to buy her the cartridge of her choice for her birthday. I'm also including a pack of colored Cricut markers that have been used only once, plus my spatula tool that's seen a lot of use, plus a new blade. What do you think would be a fair price for her? She's on a fixed income but wants to buy the Cricut from me. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm not sure, Jeanette. I've not sold my little Cricut, and if my mom wanted it, I'd just give it to her. LOL! I hope someone can give you an idea of what to ask her for it.

I want to just give it to her, but she wants to buy it from me.
Think of a figure you feel is reasonable and within her budget. Also, how old is your cricut? I would not suggest a price anywhere near what you paid, otherwise she may as well buy a new one on sale somewhere.

I don't have a clue, but you could see if others are selling used ones and what they're asking.
Another option since she insists on paying, but you would be willing to give it away is look at the cost of new and take 50% (or more) off. The accessories she's getting would be reasonably similar to the cost of the cartridge that would have come with it. If you want to make it as low as possible, go with the cheapest price you have seen it sold at and then take the percentage off or just use your original purchase price and discount from there.
I know it's not an easy spot to be in for either of you. I've always been the one with the limited budget and pride usually keeps me from taking handouts, especially ones I can't mentally justify. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Do you every shop for your mom? If you feel bad about taking the money, this might be a way to do it. Set a reasonable price, take the money, and then think of something your mom needs or could use and go buy it for her. win win

Good suggestions, ladies. Thanks! I've talked it over with DH, and I've decided to give it to her, plus a new cartridge of her choice, for her birthday (which is in October). That way we can both feel good about it. I liked the other suggestions too. Thanks again.
