I have been wanting a cricut expression for some time now and have not been able to scrape up enough money to buy one straight out - so the payment plan thing is what I had to go with if I was going to buy one. Mine should be arriving any day now! The one cartridge that you get with this offer is exclusive to this offer only (I think it is the Potpourri Basket) - and is suppose to be valued at around $100.00. This cartridge is not suppose to be able to bought any where - not even directly from the company. I hope it has alot of good useful things on it! The payments will be $57.00 a month for 6 months. I sure hate going in debt for a new toy but I just had to have it! I asked how long the offer was good for and I was told that when they decide to end it - it will be ended. The total cost is $399.99 if you pay for it all when you order it or if you make payments on it. If you pay the full amount when ordering it you will receive the deep blade that is suppose to be valued at around $20.00 I think.

I received my Cricut Expression today!!! I was told the parts in the cricut machines sold at Wal-Mart were not as good of quality as some of the ones sold in other places. Don't know if that is true or not. A friend of mine bought a Cricut Expression on-line for $200.00 with free shipping. It did not come with anything though - just the machine. So that is something you have to look at also when comparing the cost. The one I got came with two cartidges and the one is supposed to be valued at around $100.00. I have been wanting one of these for a very long time and this was the only way that I was going to be able to get one - payment plan.

The total ends up being $400 with S/H. Too high! Try www.creativeexpress.com or customcrops.com I beleive Wally World sells it for about $250(?)
With the items that come with it and the convience to pay over time it a deal for those that can't live without it

The Cricut and Expressions that Wally world carries is the same as everywhere else but if you are lucky you can get the Home Decor cartridge that is exclusive to Wally World. It was the Black Friday special. My Wally world had one left when I was there today.
I purchased mine thru this deal.
Some say its not worth it, but if you don't have the funds for it all at one time, its perfect. They do say that it takes 4-6 weeks to get it. However, I did get mine in about 2 weeks.

You can probably find it cheaper. Hallmark Scrapbooks always has sales and is online. I purchased mine at Walmart in the fall and didn't get it on sale. I am so glad I got it though. It was worth it to me to pay the slightly reduced Walmart price. I have used it quite a bit and love it!

That is one of the multitude of reasons to NEVER shop at Walmart. W uses cheaper parts in their electronics. Our family has a long standing Walmart Boycott.
As for the ad, I think that 400 is pretty high, but it does come with a bunch of stuff. I am sure you could find it cheaper lots of places online, but you wouldn't be able to pay over months like the one in the ad.
I checked the local Wal-Mart store around here today - they are selling the Cricut Expression for $289.97. The cheapest cartridges they carry were $59.97 each, the Cricut Spatula was $4.97, clear transfer tape $8.97, and the black vinyl was $9.97. These items total $433.82 without tax. They did not have the other items that come with the special offer - except the 12" x 12" Tacky Mat that was $12.97. I did not see the Scrapper Tool or Etching Solution and I did not look for the Etching Solution Application Brush. I have to go back tomorrow and plan to check these things out again and this time write the prices down as well as what all comes with their Cricut Expression to compare.

I agree that if you aren't able to pay for it in full, this would be the way to go.
Something to think about:
If you can live without the Potpourri Basket, you can sell it on ebay for $138-$275, then your Expression would be alot less and you still have all the extras.
I agree it is a nice deal if you were going to buy the extra items over time anyway and the payment option is sweet! I bought a paint "knife" for $2 instead of the spatuala and I buy rolls of vinyl from a sign shop for about the same price as provo crafts but for so much more quantity. the transfer tape I get is a 12" x 300 FOOT roll for $10!! so shop around you can always find very similar products much cheaper in the long run!!! Did I mention I am the most frugal person I know, If i can't find it cheaper no one can!!
I still agree the payments without interest make it a pretty sweet deal!!
I am the cheapest person I know...so at first I would have said don't do it...since I won't go in debt over anything no matter what.
BUT...after the other post about the Potpurri cartridge on Ebay...I would totally go for it PLANNING on selling that cartridge. It's going for $200!!! Minimum of $138....which now that people are hearing about it...I bet it stays over $165 for a while.
So that makes the whole deal $235. More than online pricing but less than Wal Mart.
Not so bad.
I bought my Ex on Craigslist with 4 cartridges...all NIP for $250. So maybe that's a better route? Though this way you can make payments if needed.

Do you need the 12x12 tacky cutting mat, as it comes with a cutting mat from Custom Crops, is that 2 different mats??? I do not have a Cricut yet but I am getting one. so I need to know if the Spatula tool and the Scrapper tool is a must. What do you use the Tacky mat for, or is it used each time to hold the cardstock in place while you cut??? I'm just trying to get the best buy for my money.

Yes the mat is how your paper enters the cricut. The mats come in 3 sizes 6x12, 12x12, 12x24 the baby bug uses the 6x16 and I belive the expression can use all three but definately the 12x12 and 12x24. As far as the spatula I bought a art paint "knife" for a couple dollars at michaels it works the same.
I had a friend that told me after Christmas the Expressions was on sale at Walmart for 199-w/ 2 cartridges
Joann's had the Expression on sale for 99.00 with NO cartridegs- but all of the cardtridges were 50% off...still making it slightly cheaper to go with the sale at Joann's.
They took the ad into Walmart on black friday- showed a manager and he sold them the Walmart Expression- WITH the 2 cartridges for 99.00!!!!!!!
I SOOOOO wish i would have known about that!!!

Hi!
A couple things I have learned. I just upgraded from the O-Bug (the machine the same size as the Create with less features) to the Expression. Wow, what a difference.
1. The Expression isn't supposed to use the 6x12 mats, although some people have had luck with putting them in and tricking the machine.
2. I have been able to refresh my o-bug mats with baby wipes. The oldest mat I refreshed with basting spray (repositional adhesive spray). I used painters tape around the edges (so the machine wheels don't get gunky), and after the adhesive dried I removed the tape and it worked fine.
3. I found that having 3 to 6 mats sure makes cutting faster. You can set up different colors on different papers and just feed and cut. I make a lot of multiple cuts for my classroom so several mats just makes the process faster.
I've normally bought mats from Wal Mart, 2 mats per package. This time I ordered 2 packages of 12x12 mats and 1 package of 12x24 mats. This sould hold me for a long time.
Prices on the E vary, so look for the best deal and don't look back. It's the cartridges that get you, they're sort of like potato chips, you can't just have one, LOL!!! Watch for sales and you'll be fine.
I read this and passed out!!! I'm never in the right place at the right time!
Thanks Ladybugstamper2 for the tips!

I finally got my Expression for Christmas!! I would never have bought it for myself. My loving momma bought it for me for Christmas along with the Computer Software and some of the markers. She then ordered me the deep cutting blades since our local walmart doesn't carry them.
I think the Deep Blade would be good to have as some gals have said that the normal blade has a hard time cutting through the SU CS and that is all I have.
Could you just leave it in the Circut all the time and use the deep blade???
My dd and dh got this for me for Christmas and I am soooooo thrilled! That's how they got it was throught Cricut.com (the tv ad). The Popourri Basket is awesome and probably not trade it for ANYTHING! I personally think that the items are a little pricey if you buy them singley but mine came with everything except the tool case. (they add up quickly!) I'm going to pick that up this week at Wal-Mart if there are any left. It's one AWEOME machine.
Anyone that just or will be getting a Cricut, have fun! I know that I will!!!

im so sad if it is, i was hoping to get it already!
okay, a question how are you guys doing it so your mats last long.
I run a strip of double-sided adhesive on my paper then stick it down. It works really good. I tried to the spray adhesive it didn't work. It made a mess of my board.
FYI you can use the 40% coupon at hl for new mats and blades just not on carts or machines.
