Cricut Design Studio or Jukebox
 If you could only buy one, which one would it be?
Cricut Design Studio or the Jukebox? & Why?
Thanks for your opinions and experience.

The two are totally different...
Design Studio is basically a computer program that enables you to have great creativity with the cartridges you own.
Juke Box holds up to 5 maybe 6 cartridges and plugs into your machine which enables you to use thos carts with out turning off your machine and switching.
I have both but could live without the Juke box. i am finding newer uses for the DS each time I use it. HTH!

Oh, definitely the Cricut Design Studio! you can do so many amazing things with this design software. The Jukebox is merely a convenience; it doesn't add anything to your Cricut useability.
With the software you can create different patterns and files that can combine several different cartridges in one cut. Say, you might use the font from one cartridge paired with images from two or more other cartridges. Then when you send the file to be cut, the software tells you when to switch cartridges.
The jukebox is merely an automatic way to do the switching...you keep your cartridges in it and the software just knows when to switch to what it needs. It isn't expanding the capabilities, really, of your Cricut, not the way that the Design Studio will. There's absolutely no question which is more valuable...get the software.

Hi there,
I only have the design studio - not the juke box and I have to say, I find the design studio to be the most UN-user friendly program I have ever tried to use! I just cannot get it! I can use photoshop heaps better than I can the design studio! lol I know there are some ladies who do fantastic things with it, but for me - I find it hopeless! I'm a person that needs things to be very simple and for me the design studio is anything but simple!
If anyone knows of any great websites that might help me - I would be very appreciative, because at the moment, it sits installed on my laptop and not used at all!
Cheers
Karen

Design studio hands down. I have both - got DS first and have no regrets. I never use my Cricut without DS anymore because it makes the original machine so much easier for me to use. I do like the jukebox - but, there's no contest in my mind.

Most definitely Design Studio. It is not difficult to learn and gives you so many more options for using your carts. Welding is a feature I cannot live without!

You use the ones you have.
What I like about a jukebox is if you take your cricut with you to crops it is an easy way to carry 6 cartridges, overlays, and manuals with you.
Someone said it was nice b/c you don't have to turn your cricut off and on changing carts. You do not have to turn your machine off to change carts. That being said, with the Design Studio if you don't have a jukebox and you use more than one cartridge to design with then you have to change out the carts as DS is cutting with them. I really like the convenience of the jukebox with Design Studio. If I could only get one I would the Design Studio. I started with it first. It is amazing. You can download a free trial version at cricut.com and even cut with the cartridge that came with your Cricut. It will not cut with any other cartridge. It is also a great way to search for an image, finding easily which cartridge it is on without digging out all the manuals.

Design Studio - helps manipulate any cartridge image you have - there are even files out there were people have already done the hard work and are willing to share.
The Jukebox - is a handy extra (if you have a project with multiple cuts from several different carts in several different color ways).
HTH
PS you don't have to buy any extra cartridges than the ones you already have. However if you may not be able to cut a file from "Betty Sue" if she has used George and you don't have George - however I just look at the carts I have and try to substitute in the shape.
