Default Cricut deep cut blade

Has anyone got the new deep cut blade for the Cricut? If you have does it work well?

I got two of them for $12.00 on Ebay. Have not used the blade yet though.

I got the housing and the blade from JK Crafts just last week. 2 days from ordering to my receiving! Can't beat that service. The longer blades don't fit in the green housing. You have to get the blue housing also.

I think it works great. It's not an inexpensive item, but I'm glad I got it. It give me the ability to cut so many more materials in the Expression.

What kind of materials can you cut? I can only cut the cardboard that comes in designer paper and cereal boxes and I could do that before with the regular blade.

How are you getting yours to work?

Thanks
Kim

Kim........Use the deep cut blade in the same manner as the regular one. I can cut most anything wth the deep cut blade. Also adjust the pressure and speed for the material you want to cut. Use the multi cut feature on your Expression for best results if you find it doesn't cut the first time around.

Make sure you are using the new blue housing! The deep cut blades will not work properly in the green regular housing!!

I have been working with my deep cut. It works on thinner boards but not the chip boards found in craft store (At least from my experience.) The multi-cut on the expression works some. I have found that it is a hit and miss product. Does not work as advertized.

I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. I have the blue housing and the deep blade. I just can't cut anything thicker than what I can already cut with my regular blade. When I use the blue housing, my cricut makes a horrible noise and won't even cut the correct pattern. I tried using my regular blade and housing and it worked fine except the blade wasn't deep enough of course to cut all the way through the chipboard.
