Just got my Cricut couple of days ago (so far all I've done is read the manual) and I'm wondering if anyone out there has suggestions as to which Cricut cartridges would coordinate with some of the current Stampin' Up stamp sets. Someone mentioned Big Pieces but didn't mention which cartridge. So far, the only cartridge I have is the one (George) that came with the machine. Thanks.

If you do cards and like scalloped cicles and squares you should consider getting Mini Monagrams before it is gone. Its a font but I use it for the scallops all the time. Others like Zoobaloo, because it is a font and has an alphabet with it making it very versatile. Georges shapes go well with alot of stampsets just for matting purposes, circles squares etc.. I have used some of the background and foreground borders with stamps also. HTH

Cart choice depends on what you do.

Thanks Cindy. Yes, these are the two new Disney carts that were previewed at the last CKU. Happy Scrapbooking has them for $59 right now as a special and they are in stock!! I can't decide if I'm getting either one of these. I really need to see the handbook first.

I was talking about the ACCENT ESSENTIALS that came with my Cricut Expressions. I don't know if you can buy that one separately. If they aren't sold in stores separately, then you can probably get one on eBay.

Cracker and Cereal boxes, Who doesn't have them??? LOL

Robyn, yes, that is very exciting. Usually you aren't that lucky that the "new" will fit the "old".

Thanks.

I've seen the suggested settings for SU cardstock. What settings should I try with the SU patterned papers?

Are you talking Patterned Paper or Patterned Cardstock

for PP I would use 3 for depth I always leave the speed high unless I am cutting intricate cuts.

for CS I think the same settigns as the cs even though it is slightly thinner.
You could try the next lower setting, If the blade cuts the mat too much decrease the depth.

Everything is little different on each machine. HTH & Good Luck have fun with your cricut.

Where is everyone??

www.customcrops.com has the new Locker Talk available to ship on the 20th. I am very disappointed with this cart. I thought it was going to be sports related and it is school related. Don't we have enough of those yet??

Robyn, thank you for the link. I too was hoping for a more mature cartridge and am also disappointed. Oh, well, guess it saves me money.

I am suprised that the new cart is so dated looking.
Plus, I agree, there are so many school related carts already!
I would love to see one that is totally dedicated towards cards. (different card shapes, cards with borders, interactive cards, envelopes, etc.

The paper dolls does not have sports outfits but I'm sure you could make something to look the way you want it. PD's is such a FUN cart!! There are dinosaurs & boy stuff on it, too.

I really want a boy cart now that I am scrapping for my 3 little ones. My girls are growing up and pretty soon I won't be doing the little girl, cutesy stuff on their pages.

I am wondering what the demographics are as to who buys a Cricut...Do they think they are selling to teachers? I know I couldn't have bought one on my teacher's salary. I know that my school wouldn't have bought one for the workroom because there is too much upkeep (buy new mats, blades, etc) and the coach would break it looking at it. Nevermind the fact that you can't even leave a pair of scissors or a pen in the wkrm--they sprout legs and disappear.

I digress...I totally agree. I'd like to see something usable for card making or scrapping. They could do borders that you change in length only (not just by length and thickness).

I think they are trying to sell to the teachers, schools, and businesses. Their release of the 12 "school" cartridges were aimed directly at them. I don't think those went over to well, though. I will admit, however, that I do own Making the Grade, Doodlecharms, and Printing 101 for school related pages but I think that is enough.

Zactly! I am thinking about it for the boys, I am likeing what I am seeing with the paperdolls! I am just wondering why they havent done like a sports theme or even NFL theme carts, For scrapping, I dont use my Disney ones enough, I wanted the Princesses but I am still trying to figure out why it's 2 carts.

BrennaLynn: I use alot of the carts I have for Cards or scraping more for cards, but when My youngest gets in school, I plan on doing the scrapbooks. I have been trying to organize pictures in order to be ready. I like all the carts I have for cards. I use the borders, tags letters all for cards. I know its not specific for cards but I havent had that keep me from using it for them. I have a few posted in my gallery. I need to make more! I use my cricut and my cuttlebug alot together to add texture and dimension for my cards.... Rambling!

Kathy, you want to hear my million dollar idea????

I think that Provo Craft should come out with a companion to Paper Dolls that has more outfits and themes like sports. For example, the button that has the sports jersey and shorts could also have a soccer ball, goal, etc. I think they could really hit it big with that one!!

I've been wanting to do them since last week , but with the PP I was working on and the surgery it didnt happen, But I need to do them before they post the new sketches. I'll post them later. Have a Nice Day.

Exactly!! I am looking for a cart that will cut a 11 1/2 x 11/2 scallop border for a scrap page. Anybody know if this exists??

If you had the Expression and used Mini Monograms Scalloped Square foundation it should cut that size.

I meant to add then cut out the center if you wanted with a 10.5-11" regular or rounded square. then you would only have a border. I think the E-bug lets you position the cut. or you can fool it by adjusting the paper.

I am thinking of having a friend pick up the ACMoore Bundle!

Does anyone know of someone who wants Jasmine or Zoobaloo. I have both of these, already.
I'ld sell them for 50$ that includes shipping, or 95$ for Both.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I believe you can also do this with the Accent cart that comes with your Expression. Good luck! I can't wait to see what you come up with!! I need that stinkin' Expression already!!
