That sounds like a fun idea!! What about a Mickey card or one using a Paper Doll??? Those would also be super cute!! I can't wait to see what you create! Mine should arrive this week. Kim said she was trying to get them all in the mail by today or tomorrow. Hopefully I will get it by Friday or Monday.

Hello,
I have a quick question? I am sure the answer is in this thread somewhere I was at Wal-Mart the other day, and saw some marker looking things that you use with your cricut. Has anyone used them and do you have any pros or cons about them.

I have used the black and White ones I posted about using them in the FAQ thread. I like them I dont use them very much but, I will use them more. I think they are worth it, I have seen some cute things made with them at Cricut.com on the message boards there.

SOunds like a fun Day. I am cleaning up from the weekend. I hope to have some fun time tonight.

According to the delivery confirmation number, mine has "left the facility" as of Sunday. Of course we are leaving for a week this coming Sunday so I probably won't get to play with the full version until we get back. We're having Christmas with my parents at our house on Saturday and it looks like WE have a bit of work to do to get the house in order. LOL (DH cleans the bathroom and bedroom and I've got the kitchen and living room.)

I gave him two choices.. the kitchen or the bathroom. After that choice was made, I said then he had to choose between the bedroom or the living room. And get this.. he cleans up after supper! I make the meal and he clears the table and fills the dishwasher. He may not always remember to start the dishwasher, but that's too minor to even complain about.

Wow Kimberly! That is all I can say. My DH may not help with the chores but he changes ALL the yucky diapers when he is home, even if I'm not busy. That's kind of the deal we've had since we've been married. My dad never changed a diaper growing up and I let my DH know that was unacceptable behavior!

Okay, I might go cut something!!

Well, our original deal was that he took care of the outside of the house and I took care of the inside. However, I realized one day while outside picking up dog poop that I was OUTSIDE PICKING UP DOG POOP. LOL So that night I told him that we need to divvy up the inside chores and that's when I gave him the choices. It was such a relief to take those two rooms off my task list. The stamping room is my domain and then we take equal responsibility for our home office. (I clean my desk, he cleans his.) He'd probably cook too (he obviously kept himself alive after graduating high school until we got married in 2005) but since I work from home, it's easier for me to cook. His dad gave him sage advice prior to us getting married:

Happy wife, happy life.

How very true...

Kimberly

This makes me think about getting a phrase stamp made up that says that... Something like:

Here's the best advice you will ever hear: Happy wife, happy life.

Or

On your wedding day remember this.... (Outside of card)
Happy wife, happy life. (Inside of card)

Or

To live happily ever after, repeat after me... (Outside of card)
Happy wife, happy life. (Inside of card)

I can't think of exactly the right words for the beginning

To the groom:
Want a marriage with less strife ...(out side of card)

Happy wife, happy Life(Inside of Card)
I think we need to come up with one for the bride too!

Its really a 100%/100% deal

I only have the trial version of the software, so George is my only cartridge to use with the new software. I do LOVE it and will get it soon - but not before Christmas and probably not before the new year. Even without being able to use it for cutting, I love how the software upgraded my baby Bug and I love using it for designing - no more guessing on widths!

Oh ... and my dh is responsible for meals on the weekend. He changes dirty (or wet) diapers, cleans the kitchen, and puts up his own clean clothes .... BUT he does NOT do toilets.

I have remedied that with my boys, though ....

Mine installed with no problem also but I have DSL High Speed so it only took about 5 min to update...It cuts slower but I think all the improvements make up for that and the new way the blade moves works great. Saves paper. because you're not constrained by the 1/2" movement.

No. I just did the download. I should be able to download the trial version again. I've still got the key code if I need to use it again.

Gail,
The software update to your Bug lets you move the blade in itsy bitsy teeny increments - so you can truly place it anywhere on your page - not just in 1/2 inch increments. (You can position the blade quickly by holding the arrow keys.) This is a permanent improvement for your machine even if you never use the software again.

The software is fully functional with George - and that's a great cartridge to use with it. You can weld your shapes together and make new ones. You can get exactly the sizing that you want. I made a nice simple oval frame that I can use on cards and got it the correct size. Last time I wanted one, I just couldn't get the right size because the increments on the Cricut just weren't close enough.

BTW I just ordered the full version from BargainPack - $60 with free shipping and no tax! It may take until January to get it, but I'm OK with that.

FYI to those Cricut owners that are debating about downloading the software ..... the trial version is the full version - you just can't cut with any cart other than what originally came with your machine (George for the original bug). It doesn't operate for a limited time (certain number of times or until a certain date), BUT the download is ONLY available for a certain amount of time. SO ... if you are going to want to play with this to see if you would like it, DO IT NOW. You don't have to play with it until you are ready (after the holidays or whenever), but don't miss the chance to get the trial version so that you can play with it and see if you would use it much. KWIM??

Basically, I'm saying that if you want to try it FREE, you MUST get it very soon!!!!!!!

It's on the home page of cricut.com

If it doesn't show up as the main image, look for the words "cut what you want".

Hope your throat gets better...I always love hot tang with Hooney when I have an irritated throat...

Gale, I hope you feel better.

Last night I made 9 more boxes with TBBM to put more jewelry sets in to give to friends. I am having a little get together at my home in a few hours. Hope the girls like what I made them.

I hope I'm not highjacking here... but does anyone know where I can order cartridges for the best price right now? I hate to pay full price-KWIM!!
ALso, I just got my Expression yesterday, so I'm still playing, but I had heard that you have access to the whole Cricut cartridge library on the Expression (but you can't cut w/o the cartridge). Is this true.. or can you only do this with the Design Studio? Am I making sense?? TIA

Here's the best sale right now:

Creative Express has a progressive sale. 1 for $40, 2 for $37 each, 3 for $33 each or 4 for $27 each.
http://www.creativexpress.com/shop/home.php?cat=2199

I think the other part of your question is actually directed at the Design Studio software. You can design with all of the cartridges but you can't cut the design unless you have cartridge.
