I just got the Design Studio...I'm trying to figure out how to use the "Weld" part of it all...You know so all the letters are welded together to make a word or phrase. Does anyone have any ideas on how to use the "weld" part of the Desgin Studio?
TIA

I have heard that a lot of Wal-Marts are downsizing or even phasing out their craft department. So we should keep our eyes open for clearance stuff!

My aunt was getting Paper Dolls for me--but turned out that Michael's was out of them. She did get two rainchecks though--one for each of us.

We had a great time today--I was teaching her how to use her Cricut--and we used my HEA cart for the first time. Some of those pieces are TINY!!!!!!!!!! We made a Cinderella, and later I made Doc. The main reason I wanted the cart was for the 7 Dwarves. Love those little guys!

Anyhow, at the end of the teaching session, she now wants the DSS!

really cute! I love how soft and pretty it looks. I admire the fact that you can take shapes and make them into something. It was a huge accomplishment just for me to weld two objects together!

Thank you, Lisa.

It's really not hard when you get an idea of what you want to create. That's my problem right now, though. I can't *think* of new cards to create. Does that make sense??

Gale, these are adorable! I have PP and have never thought about making a frame with it. Of course now I will for my oldest who's leaving for college in a few months. Thanks for the inspiration!

LOVE these threads!!

I run my own card making business and I was wondering do you think that the design software would be worth it for me? What are the advantages to using it?

I am going to start reading this thread from the start so I am sorry if this has already been talked about!!

I just saw a graduation card where the person used a Cricut to cut out the year 2008. The numbers were connected with each other. I don't know enough about my Cricut to know if I can do this. I have the regular Cricut, not the Expressions. Does anyone know if and how I could do this?

You need to have the Design Studio Software to "meld" the letters/numbers together. It can be used with either Cricut machine. You load the program onto your computer. You can buy it at many stores. My Walmart carries it also.

Well... I didn't think I'd ever do this, but I ordered the Expression machine from ACMoore.com last night. They had the bundle on sale for $360+. It comes with Accent Essentials, Plantin Schoolbook, Cuttin' Up and Locker Talk plus a set of the primary colored markers.

We were in Minneapolis Thursday through this morning. Our hotel was near a Michaels and while walking around in there, I pointed out the larger machine and told him that I wanted one. Then we left the store. (This is how I plant a bug in his mind.) Then when we were back at the hotel, I had gone online to AC Moore's website and saw they had the bundle in stock. I mentioned that to him (and what all was included). Then I changed the subject. A short while later, he asked me what the difference was between the machine I have and the larger one. So.. I told him. I also told him that I would sell my smaller machine plus the cartridges that I already had that were in that bundle, so that technically, the larger machine wouldn't actually cost all that much - maybe a little over $100. I also told him that the shipping charge was only $5. He said that sounded like a good deal since he saw how big the box/machine was at Michaels. Then he said that I should go ahead and order it. So... I got the credit card and ordered it. He also asked me if I had remembered to order the motorcycle jacket that I had found on sale plus had a 15% off coupon code. No.. I had forgotten. So I ordered that last night too. (I'm taking my motorcycle permit class on May 5th.) Score!

I really didn't think I needed the larger machine but I wanted to be able to cut larger sized stuff from the Bags, Tags, Boxes and More cartridge AND I wanted to be able to cut A2 size envelopes. (And I saw what one of the new cartridges to be released later called Wild Cards and it would be nice to make a decent size.)

Anyhow, we stopped at Crafts Direct in St. Cloud, MN (Waite Park, actually) and they had a Cricut machine demo from 11-1 pm. One of the gals there to watch the demo was telling me that she wanted to get one of the machines but she wasn't sure which one to get. I told her of the differences that I knew (mainly the size cut) and then I discreetly told her of the AC Moore deal. (Crafts Direct had the Expression machine for $350 with two cartridges, so for around $20 more, she could get two more cartridges.)

Kimberly

PS. I wish A.C. Moore was around here, since their in-store bundle price is around $320 when it's on sale. Oh well, the price I paid was still less than what it would cost me locally.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! You are going to love it!

Thanks, Robyn! It's a little plain, but I think it will be fun to play with that shaped card later.

I mentioned that to him (and what all was included). Then I changed the subject. A short while later, he asked me what the difference was between the machine I have and the larger one. So.. Congrats Kimberly! One of the things I love about my Ebug is the fact that I don't have to trim paper to use it. And many of the other features, but of course you already know all that!

the album is of pics from when my kids played with tigers at the mall. I used zooballoo for it. The frame is for a friend of mine-it's a pic of her dog when he was a puppy. I used paper pups.
Beautiful..
