Wouldn't you think that as wonderful chirpers that we are that ProvoCraft would stay up and work night and day getting new carts ready for us? What are they thinking I think carts are the new chocolate only better for hips.

Thanks everone! yes we are both doing fine - it's just taking me some time to learn how to be a 1st time mom while recovering from 20+hrs of labour and an inevitable c-section - having gone through both was and is rough.

i'm taking lots of pics and can't wait to have some time to work on a scrapbook... maybe in another week or two i can start. right now i'm still spending every 'waking' minute learning about my preciuos little girl and enjoying her every move, sound and expession.

Oh and Robyn, she came from one of the new carts, called Cutie Pattoutie

My daughter and I did the same when she was induced. They told her to walk around a for a while. She would know when to come back. We did a lot of shopping and then they had to take the baby like yours. Beautiful ending to a crummy beginning.

The scrapping can wait, Mommy! You just take some time, just breathe in that new baby smell and bask in the glorious "first time Mommy" moment...savour it. Really and truly savour it...and take lots of pictures!

I finally did it!! My Expressions is on the way! I should get it early next week. I got the Design software with it, so I am counting on all you wonderful Cricut-heads to help me figure out all the fun things I can do with it. I'm soooooo excited.

Now if I can just get my girls to go to bed at 7:00pm and take 3-4 hour naps . . . . . .

NO! If you have to cancel a cut while using the software - always use the software 'cancel' button. I don't know what happened with yours, but that's happened to a lot of people when they used the 'stop' on the machine. That was why I asked.

I've been playing around with the trial software, and it's cool, but do I really NEED the full-version? What do you think, ladies? Do you get enough use out of it to make it worth the money?

YES! (IMO) I can't imagine using my cricut without the software. In fact I dont even know how to use my machine without the software. I have saved paper and time and space with it. I am in LOVE with the software.

Yes, DSS is worth it. I just wanted to try it and got hooked. Now I'm spending tons of time designing and redesigning until I learn how to do this.

I'll give you a very practical example of what you can do with the software, especially if you are a scrapbooker:

When I was at a scrapbook expo the other week, there were at least 2 vendors who had pages with precut 'windows' in them for the picture or the background paper to show through, and words cut in at the bottom--i.e., a baseball player silhouette, the words PLAY BALL, and 3 or 4 window openings (the words and player stuck up into the bottom openings). This was a cardstock overlay, and then a baseball-themed paper was behind that.

This could be done very easily on the Cricut, with your own choice of words in the bottom. You would use the welding and the shadow features, and possibly even 2 or 3 different cartridges to get the overlay you wanted. Easy peasy--especially when you consider maybe cutting them all individually.

With the trial version, you are limited to just the cartridge that came with your machine--and in my creative mind, that's VERY limited.

Additionally, there are all the cut files available from other creative Cricuteers--and some of their ideas are amazing!

So I would say DEFINITELY YES--you need the full version. But that's JMHO!

Absolutely!!!!! Can you tell I like it? I only very, very rarely cut without using the software now.

Thanks Shell.
I don't know what happened to mine either.
I will have to try it again using the software and see what happens.

I am so with you. I don't even know how to use my cricut without the software. I love to plan my design and place my paper to fit each design. I press cut and I can have several images cut out at the same time.
I save time and paper!

I hate to say this, but I must warn you. No one on this board will ever tell you NOT to buy something.

LOL!!! No, I probably wouldn't tell someone not to buy something, but I would tell them if I didn't like it. I LOVE the software. That thing is *wonderful*!

I agree the software is wonderful!
I REALLY believe in it and use it in all my scrapbooking. I would be honest and say I didn't like it if that were the case.

Right NOW it is Mickey and Friends because I'm doing a scrapbook about our Disney trip.
Also, love Doodlecharms because it has a wide variety of images. Love Plantin Schoolbook for fonts...okay, I love them all
I'm addicted and pathetic!

Ok, so I don't have very many carts yet and I am far from a pro at all of this stuff...but I have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my All Mixed Up, Mini Monograms and Doodlecharms. I think they are all Must haves!

Can I ask you where you have found other people's work to download? I can't seem to find much when I look. I just posted that as a question somewhere on one of these links. Would love to get onto a thread where people are sharing their layouts. Sure would save time for all of us. Love this program! Can't quit playing, oopps! I mean, "WORKING"

Hmmmmm ... That's a hard one. The ones that I use the most right now are Paper Dolls, *Zooballoo*, and strangely, George. With the software, I use lots of carts each time I play, so it's hard to pick a favorite.
