Default Cricut-To buy or Not to Buy?

While I was in one of my local craft stores this morning I ran in to a woman who sang the praises of the Cricut Expression. I have been struggling with whether to jump in and ask Santa for this or not. I have been perfectly happy with my Epic Six. I am not into scrapbooking. I make cards. Is it worth the expense? Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated? (I have been a very good girl this year!)

I'm more of a card maker too and wasn't sure if I would use a Cricut enough, but I bought one at the Wal-Mart sale today for $185.00. I used it a bit today and I think it'll be great for card making. So many different possibilities.

If you have kids, they will love it too! I don't have kids, but my 7 year old niece was using it with me today and she had a great time. She can even operate it all by herself.

I say add it to your list

I wasn't sure if I wanted the Cricut either since I am mostly a card maker right now but I bought one at Wal-Mart today too.

I came SO close to buying the Cricut Create today. It's on sale someplace online for $75. I have the Slice, which I love, but I have what I call "Gypsy envy," really bad. It's the whole being able to look up, say, all of the hearts you have, choosing which one you want, and printing it...all in a matter of seconds. That, to me, is SO cool, because I waste so much time looking through my little design card storage book, pulling out the pamphlets, and trying to find that ONE shape that I want.
But I didn't get it. It's a space issue. If I had the space, I would have been all over it. If you have the space, I say go for it!

Oh, I would so get it if I could!! Love my Cricut create and wish it was larger. I am a cardmaker also and would love to make the bigger elements that you can get with the expressions. Maybe one day, sigh!!

Look into the Gazelle. I have the baby big and the expression and I have all sorts of issues with the way PC does business. The Gazelle is amazing and has a smaller footprint yet cuts true 12x12. This is one thing I am saving up for. I would also look into the program Make the Cut. It is AWESOME!!! The costumer service is second to none. Yes the images are cute but I tend to cut maybe two or three off each cartridge and I can get anything I need from their image library.

I really love my Cricut. I have a Big Shot for my manual die cutting. I am a card maker. I say go for it because of all the years since I have been using the Cricut I never seen the prices so low. I am one of the girls who jumped on the Cricut when it first came out over four years ago & I paid $300 for a Baby Bug. I have a BossKut Gazelle too. Best thing do some research and figure out what cutter is best for your needs. Honestly, the Cricut is a good learning one and it's a powerful machine that is very versatile.

Erin in OKc- I gave my Mom the Slice today. When I first got the Slice I was using it more than my Cricut. Then the Gypsy came out and poor Slice started to collect dust. I love my Gypsy. Your right looking up images on the Gypsy is so easy. I can mix and match all the hearts I want. !

I was on the fence last year at X-Mas on the Cricut but this year I couldn't wait any longer. I am mostly a card-maker but scrapbook for my Son.. I decided on the Create and I am totally in love. I do have a feeling that next X-Mas the Expression may be a must have. I have only had my create for about 2 weeks and already purchased 9 carts for it. Joann's sale was just too good to pass up buying a lot of them. I do agree on Storybook- that was my first cart I purchased for 40.00 2 weeks ago- the day after DH surprised me with the create.
