Default Craft Robo Questions

I am looking at purchasing a Craft Robo cc100 used for $100. Is this a good idea? What are the differences between a cc100 and a cc200 and which would you or did you get? How does it compare to a Wishblade or the other system (name escapes me)? Sorry for all the questions. I value SCSers input!

Default HTH Info I got from a yahoo group

The Silhouette and the Craft Robo 2 are the exact same 8" Graphtec machine and their versions of RoboMaster are almost identical. The Silhouette's version has the ability to purchase and download cutting file from the Quickutz web site.

I think getting one for $100 is a really good deal. I bought mine not even a year ago brand new and paid just under $300Cdn for it. The CraftRobo/Wishblade/Silouette are all the same machine, just different software. You'll love it! There are a few forums out there dedicated to these cutting machines that also have tons of free files to download. Once you get the hang of it, you will be able to cut just about anything you can dream up.

Thanks! Does anyone know if the Craft Robo cc100 is compatible with Vista? I have seen on their website that the cc200 model is, but I can't whether the first one is or even a comparison between the two models.

I am pretty sure on the yahoo group they have a place that says it is compatible with Vista ... or you can go to the craft robo and download a patch for the Vista ...

You can find the Graphtec download site here:

www (dot) graphteccorp (dot) com/craftrobo/support/index.html

(Sorry I can't post links for some reason!)

I know that you can also purchase software like the KNK Studio GE and WinPC Funtime software to cut from Vista to the older Wishblade and Craft Robo machines. They are great programs where you can do a lot more than you can in the original software that came wiht the machines, like tracing graphics, welding words for titles, and creating mats.

I have the original (cc100). The main difference is the cutting pressure - they improved it by 50% or so on the updated model so you can cut thicker card with the newer one. It depends what kind of material you want to cut as to whether this is an issue for you. Can you get a demonstration from the current owner so you can see the maximum thickness it will cut and decide if that's going to be enough for you?
