i have spent a small fortune on adhesives. everytime i go to the craft store, i buy a few more products. i do lots of 3 d. i am working on matchboxes for church. so far scor tape by scor pal is working the best, but not fail proof. i am not wild about the little paper bits all over. i do like it better than the red tape because i can tear it. glue arts has an extreme tac. havent tried it. zip and tombow liquid, but there is a fair amount of holding together to stick time and the resulting stick on your fingers. is there an atg, that is super will stick things together even after your dead, adhesive? anyone tried the glue arts extreme tac?
I'm afraid I have no perfect adhesive to reccommend. You mentioned some very good ones and 2 of my favorite for 3-D items, score tape and zip dry. I guess our hobby requires patience for these items to work as well, yes you gotta hold wet adhecives a moment for them to set but thants what makes our treasures so unique. Would love to hear your review on extreme tac.
the thing with that is you cannot buy a little roller. you must purchase the big $50 gun, so for that i would like to know with some certainty that it would be a good investment. oh who am i kidding, with what i've spent in glue i could have bought 3 of them!
I use my ATG for 3D items. I don't make many, mostly boxes or gift card holders. It holds really well! Things I've made like 5 years ago are still holding strong!
I basically use my ATG for everything I make except when I need a pop dot, a glue dot or some liquid glue. Using liquid glue is rare for me.
The ATG tape I use is the the standard normal stuff, not the gold acid free.

I use my ATG for everything, too. I think the key to getting things to "stick" well with the ATG is to burnish VERY thoroughly, not just press the edges together. I use my bone folder to burnish the edges on boxes and seams.

I know it's overkill but I use my mini hot glue gun on any 3D object. My ATG is my second choice and where possible I'll put a paper clip on the spot until I think the tape will hold.
I also am on the constant search for the ultimate adhesive. But, I was just thinking that maybe with the match boxes or other things, you might want to consider using a mini staplers. Tim Holtz has one that's great. And then there is a decorative one with special staplers. You might have to line the inside if necessary.
I love scor-pal because you can tear it. I will agree with my sistah above that burnishing makes a strong hold stronger. Also, if you can use the glue gun, do it. But, two things are essential....the temp must be very hot (high temp) and consider that you will be adding some bulk.
Good luck! Remember handmade is not perfect, but perfectly made with love!
I recently bought "the best glue ever" and I am very pleased. It is to be used sparingly. The hold has been great and the best part is that you only have to hold it for a few seconds. Since I just got it, I haven't put it through all the tests but so far so good.
Here is a link.
I did try to glue a tiny fabric ribbon bow that I made and it popped off. I was supposed to put the glue dot on the paper and let it dry before I attached the bow. I put it on while the glue was wet. Oops. That has been the only thing that came apart. I've glued strips of ribbons, buttons, paper, tiny rhinestones and it has worked marvelously.

Sheabella's link to ScraPerfect is the place I would go to. I just discovered this site several weeks ago and her glue is amazing. In fact, it's so sticky that she said they had to develop a cleaner to use with it. Mind you, it comes off with soap and water, but folks wanted something they could sit at their craft space and use right away. I've used this glue to adhere thick vinyl letters to tin foil, buttons that were not flat on the back and paper. So far, I LOVE IT. I still err on the side of using too much and it's a discipline issue with me that I have to resolve. I always use too much. But, with this glue all you need are small amounts. You can also use it to make your own glue dots. It takes hold pretty quickly. Be sure to watch her video. It has TONS of info in it. Also love their "Embellie Gellie." You put a little bit on the end of the wooden stick provided. It helps you to pick up and move small items, alphas and all kinds of little things that are hard to grab hold of and put on your paper where you want them. BEST GLUE EVER is the glue for me!
My go-to DRY adhesive is my ATG tape. My go-to wet adhesive has been FabriTac. I really liked it when I bought it in a small bottle, but when I bought the large bottle I found that half-used, it started to get hard to squeeze out of the bottle and would make little glue strings.
I tried using the Gold (acid-free) ATG tape on a photo box that I covered with cardstock weight paper, but the pieces I wrapped around the edges would not stick. So, I used red Terrifically Tacky Tape and thought it would work, until the next afternoon when I saw that the narrow pieces wrapped around sharp edges (ie: the top edge of the box opening) were coming undone. Granted, the box was sitting on a table that was warmed by the midday sun. I resorted to using Glossy Accents (a 3-D gel that makes a darn decent adhesive).
I'd like to try Scortape, also known as SOOKWANG adhesive and now I'd also like to give The Best Glue Ever a try. But the idea of ordering adhesive online (Ca$h price + Po$tage) does not appeal to me, especially if all I'm ordering is adhesive. That can make it awfully expensive.
