Question Cottage Cutz - do they?

Hubby placed an order from my Wish List on Amazon.com for birthday. We got the items on Monday and the weirdest thing happened with the order.
I received everything he ordered but they sent too much! Instead of getting one Karen Burniston's Poppy the Owl die set I received two. Same for the Butterfly Pivot Card die, he ordered 1 and we got 3!! Fortunately, we got the right number of Cottage Cutz die sets. I have to contact Amazon tomorrow and see how to get these back to them.

Anyway, I am having serious problems cutting with the Cottage Cutz.
I spent all day Monday trying to get them to work.
He gave me Tea Time Border Die & Picket Fence die, these two work great. Nothing to pick out, just a quick tap on my trash can and all of the bits fall out.
He also bought me Garden Gate & Fence (For my Halloween cards) & Ivy 4 by 4.
These are impossible! ESPECIALLY, the Garden Gate.
I placed the ejection foam into the dies as directed. I cut pieces of cardstock (I use Stampin' Up! cardstock only) I ran the dies through using both my magnetic platform and the regular platform. I tried wax paper, Sizzix shims and other pieces of cardstock as shim. Finally, I used one of the silicone pads I had from an old Spellbinder. It was rough turning the handle to get the silicone through, but I thought that would do it.
It didn't. It cut the side pieces out beautifully. but the gate is in the middle of the 4 by 6 die and even turning it around a few times didn't get it cut.
I don't want to break my BigKick.
Am I missing something? Are these dies only for paper? At this point I am not sure they'd cut even that.

Any ideas?

When I had this problem, I contacted the company. They were wonderful to deal with.

My dress form dies are a bit of a challenge but after shimming and using wax paper it does cut right. I agree with Larue. Contact them and tell them how it is acting.

I had a similar problem with a Memory Box die and found that if I put the shim UNDER the dp, I was able to get a good cut. Oh, and I had to run it through several times - 15-20 times. Someone else recommended rotating the die 1/4 turn each time you ran the die through the machine.

I cannot get the tea time doily die to cut well at all. I've tried everything. I have the metal adapter plate. I use wax paper. But once you run it through with wax paper it pops out of the die and you can't turn it to run through again.

I'm getting good cuts today, but I am cutting with die cutting edge into the adapter plate and running it back and forth through the BS six times.
