Question Copic Spica pens and colours

I've seen online that the clear Copic Spica pens really do look clear (no silver cast to the carrier ink). Does anybody know how well they colour over other base colours? I guess I really want to know whether it's worth buying the coloured Spica pens or whether I can just buy a clear one and get a similar effect by using it over the top of another colouring medium (pencils, markers or whatever).

Anybody got any experience of this? Thanks!

I have all the colors and I love them!

The clear one does color clear and you can use it over the top of another color and just add some shimmer.

My opinion you do not need to buy all the colors, but you did get a richer color if you have the colored ones.

Happy copic buying!

I LOVE my clear spica pen. I also have pink and i find I use the clear one A LOT more. It really does go on clear over other copic colors, which makes it a great purchase.

I have all the colors, and I do reach for my clear one the most. I LOVE the black one though.. it gives a deeper sparkle than the clear, in my opinion, and looks fab over black images.

I also have all the colours - love them. I agree with everyone else, the colours just make your images look richer than using clear on it's own.

Thanks for the input everyone! I guess I'll get the clear to start off with and see how it goes. Thanks again!
