Howdy Everyone! Okay-- I'm a HUGE Prismacolor Marker fan. They are my favorite and I have a set of them. Now-- I've just learned about Copic Markers and was going to pay $115 for a set. Does anyone know the differences between the Copic and Prismacolor markers? which is better? Is it worth the money to get the Copic markers too? Thanks for your help! Have a great day! Ashley
Wow! Where did you find them so reasonably? I haven't tried the Prismamarkders but have tried the Copic ones...they were FANTASTIC! Let us know what you decide and where you can get them for that!
Thanks.

I saw a set on www.myfavoritethings.com for $115.00. I love my prismacolor markers. Everyone says they have a high learning curve...but I have to say... they are the best coloring tool I've found. I might by a few of the Copic from Hobby Lobby and try them out to see what the difference is...if any. Hugs! Ash~

I just got some Prisma markers this weekend. I have a silly question - do you use them like regular markers or do you use a blender pen with them? I am just starting to venture out into new 'coloring' territories and have questions !! Thanks
Ok, another question. Which is better? Copic Markers or Tombow Markers?--Jeannie
These are two different kinds of markers. The Tombow Marker is a waterbased marker and can be applied directly to the stamp. The Copic Marker is alcohol or solvent based and you can't apply them directly to the stamp. They are artist grade or illustrator grade markers used for coloring. HTH

Live in the moment and make it so beautiful it's worth remembering.
I've seen mega differences in prices of Copics- it might be true that there are different sizes of sets; I'd be willing to be that $115.00 does not get ou a complete set, yes? I tried to go to my local art store, but they close at 5. You know I am desperate for new color when I skip work early tomorrow- anything to kill time until the new SU catty comes!
copic makes several kinds of markers- hence, the difference in prices. the "originals" which have a fine tip and a wide tip usually retail for about $5.50; copic sketchers have a brush tip and a wide tip and they usually retail for about $3.25. all are refillable. hth
I bought my Copics from http://www.mftstamps.com/ She is great to work with and had a huge discount compared to what i have seen them in other stores. I got 36 for $115 for each set with there being 4 sets. I love coloring with them they don't leave streaks as the prisma one's tend to do and I believe the tips can be changed and they are refillable where you can't do that to prisma. There is no comparison between the cheaper markers. I love mine....
I haven't tried the copic markers but I'm tempted. I don't know why, I should just stick with the prismacolors. I have 72 prismacolors and love them! I am still learning how to blend and want to fill out my collection with some lighter tints of the colors I have but I am really happy with them. I started out with a set of 24 from JoAnns and then I mentioned to dh that I was interested in a bigger set and would he price check them for me when he went to the art store. Well, he forgot the price check part and bought them! LOL so I kept them. The only bummer was the set of 72 had the same 24 markers in it that I already had so I have some doubles. I'm thinking of selling those.
