The booster kit is great for instructors who have class sets of markers (lots of the same color) to fill... otherwise just pull out the chisel nib and drip the blender into it from the refill bottle.
Tip... make sure you remove the cap from the brush end also so that you can watch closely. When the brush end turns shiny... stop... you are full!
Place the chisel nib back in and you are ready to go!!!

Thanks Colleen, for that tip! I read to be very careful not to overfill. Yet I had no idea how to tell. Since my blender pen was very dry, I went by how much is a typical fill, and stayed under that amount. I also did keep checking the brush end - and when it was feeling 'wet' I figured that was good. Your tip makes much better sense though. And much easier when dealing with the color inks!

I fill hundreds of markers about every other month (for classes) and I STILL over fill some of them... LOL
It won't harm your marker, it just wastes ink.
If you do overfill (it starts to drip out the brush tip) then put the chisel tip back in, let it sit for a bit and then if it still is drippy, scribble a bit on some scratch paper until it stops dripping. I also like to put the cap back on the chisel end first and watch the brush tip. Sometimes if it is just about too full the pressure of putting the cap on will squirt some out the brush end.
If you put the caps on when a marker is overfilled, you might end up with a cap that sticks tight or ink that drips out when you pull the cap off. (Ask me how I know! LOL)
I'm wondering if you could recommend an on-line course for Copics.
I live in the country and there are no courses available to me. I have a collection of Copics that I should be using and thought while I'm stuck at home in the snow this winter, this would be the perfect time to take a course.
I've read this thread and it's great and I've played with my markers but need to learn more.

Hi Karen.....I've been taking some great classes through Suzanne Dean's blog - scrapbitz.blogspot.com - her classroom is located at the top of her blog called "Color Me Creative Classroom", and she's running a special right now to sign up for her classes. I think she's great. If you want to check out any of her videos on YouTube first you can through her blog. She has wonderful resource sheets, along with the videos, as well as Chats, and of course you can do the homework assignments and you'll get feedback from Suzanne. The videos are very helpful in their own right, and you get a year to complete the on-line classes. She's wonderful and a great artist...check her out!
I'm wondering the same thing. Not just the new in colors but also the new revised color family matches! Thanks in advance for any help!

I've been taking classes here: Simply Scrapping Crafts
Very reasonably priced and lots of fun! There is a beginning class which I took Nov.-Jan. and we just started the intermediate class yesterday.
I'm going to go check out the other class recommended, I think I've been watching those on youtube!
hi ladies,
I just wanted to let you know I'm selling a bunch of BRAND NEW copic markers. Its basically a "my husband is an idiot, but was trying to be sweet and helpful" Sale. He brought me A BUNCH of new markers and I had all of them except 4... Awesome right? They are $3.75 plus shipping.
I have a mix of Ciao and Sketch markers. I am getting frustrated with my Ciaos because I can't see the marker number on the end cap like I can on the Sketch! Has anyone come up with a great solution to marking the ends of the Ciao markers??? Thanks!

Has anybody played with the 12 new Copic Sketch colors and are there any that I HAVE to have because they are an exact match to any Stampin' Up or PaperTrey colors?
The new colors aren't shipping until March 1st I believe. Very soon people will have them in their hands!!! YIPPIE!

WOO HOO! There were 31 left when I went to the site just now. I logged in and when I placed them in my cart, the price went down to $47.99 for the set plus shipping! Thanks Judy for the info. I did check Carpe Diem Store also, but they are not showing any of them in stock yet.

I immediately ordered this am from oozak.com and was successful...but a couple questions remain. What does the "#5 extra" mean? Why is there no price difference between with a case, and without a case? Anyone know????

I didn't see an option to get a case. The ad states - case not included. I don't need a case, so it didn't make any difference to me. I notice now there are only 21 left.

The two sets are side by side on the Oozak homepage.....one with a case, one without.......but both state "#5 extra".........both $47.99. The case is also not important to me......

I am guessing that the "#5 extra" refers to the way Copic numbers its extra Sketch sets. See this page: Sketch | COPICMARKER.COM (Click on Sketch Sets. Scroll to the bottom and View All.)
They have four sets of 72, and in addition they have the EX-1, EX-2, EX-3, and EX-4 sets. At the bottom is set EX-5, which is the new colors. That's what I'm assuming Oozak is calling "#5 Extra." Maybe someone else can confirm that.
As far as the case goes, the first Oozak shipment with the case is already sold out. The only ones currently available there are without a case, and they have 12 left. I don't know why they are the same price. The sidebar note on the Oozak site says that Copic cut their original shipment to half of what they expected, but they will be getting more later.
Thanks for the clarification Judi. I didn't see 2 sets when I got to the website, just the one with no case, maybe that's because that the set with the case was already sold out. I already got an e-mail from them with my status update that says "packing" I'm hoping that they'll ship tomorrow and I'll have them early to middle of next week.
I ordered mine today when I got the email from them. I can hardly wait to get them and see the new colors in person!!! It's a great price, wish they would have had the color swatch book too, I'll just have to wait on that I guess......
Any suggestions on how to get a navy blue color? (And why is it, with all those markers, that there is no navy blue marker???) Prussian blue is not navy blue.
Hey All I'd like to color the same image with Copics as I did with my Prismacolors. I'm still not certain I prefer the Copics, but willing to go a bit further into experimenting.
Does anyone have a larger copic and prismacolor collection, and could tell me which markers correspond to the pencil color? I don't trust I'm seeing the color charts correctly on my monitor
If you can help.... These are the colored pencils I used to blend for mittens and a ski hat:
PC1009 Dahlia Purple, PC930 Magenta, PC1030 Raspberry, PC926 Carmine Red...there's a smidge of PC1002 Spanish Orange in there, also.
And would I need several shades of each color marker to recreate the colors I used? Here is what I would like to recreate with Copics. Thanks a bunch! Lisa
I am so sorry if this has been asked already but...I have just receive my markers about a month ago...I have about 300 and I don't know how to store them. I LOVE the Cubbies but I do not have any space to put "furniture" so I have them currently in a tote bag with "Chrystal Light" containers separating the different color groups...Several Color groups have multiple containers since each one only holds 14 markers. I would appreciate any ideas.
Thanks in advance,
Valerie

Hi, Lisa --
That little guy sure looks familiar! He's one of my penguin chicks digi-stamps.
This is the closest I could come to your sample. You need to know that I started with Copics about six weeks ago, and so far I only have about one-third of the total available colors.
The color numbers in my version are: RV10, RV11, RV14, V12, V15, V17, and Y17.
Hi Valerie... if you go to Page 1 of this thread, you'll see a link in post #1 re: storage
Judi! I'm so glad you made your little penguin guy. I've sent him to quite a few people because his face *always* makes them smile. My sister told me "I wouldn't mind if someday I got a penguin in my mailbox!" I just made a card for her with him... and now I'm using him to practice with my copics because who can get frustrated blending when you're looking at that cute face? LOL
Thanks Lisa!!!
It was right under my nose!!! I checked out all three links (but they were old from 2008-2009) and either discontinued or not available. I will keep up the search. I really hate not having my own space and I have to pack everything away each and every meal we eat. So everything I own has to be put in tubs and totes and stacked on top of each other in the back corner of a coat closet.
Valerie
I got one of these that someone had posted on another thread-sounds like it might be what you are looking for since it is portable-and I also have my Glimmer Mists and other items. I think I got it with Mike's 50% off for under $20-I like that it has the lid so things won't fall out-and adjustable compartments-

Hi Ladies - I'm having a problem with the copics that I haven't found an answer for so I thought perhaps one of you might have an answer. Sometimes, a few of my copics seem "sticky" on their tips (generally the same ones over and over) and they don't blend well. They, well, sort of "stick" and I get a spotty color. I'm using Georgia Pacific CS - and I'm sure there are better papers, but the problem is, other copics work just fine and I don't ahve any problems. I thought perhaps the problem might be that the marker is getting dry, but it doesn't seem to matter if I refill it or not. Does any have any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
