Default Bad Experience with Carpe Diem ordering

Yes, but unfortunately I can't get their web site to work for me. I have my markers in my cart, then when I click Check Out, I get a screen that says my cart is empty. I sent them email, and they sent me back detailed directions how to make their web site work (don't use the back arrows at the top of the screen, etc.). I went through the steps with great care, and the same darned thing happened. I'm using a Mac, and tried both Firefox and Safari. It shouldn't be that hard to give them my money, and it should work on any computer!

Finally I sent them email, thanked them for the response and said I couldn't get the web site to work, and to please call me so I could place my order (this after I tried to call them and got an endless telephone tree).

Today I got an email message back saying they were sorry, but they don't take messages by phone--only internet.

Oozak, here I come! A much better site, better customer service, and almost as low a price and free shipping on $50 (Carpe Diem charges $1.75 on "free shipping" orders. so it's not really free.)

I just did the math: Carpe Diem-13 markers is $51.35 plus $1.75 comes to $4.09 per marker. Oozak (you have to log in to get the best price, but their website WORKS!), $4.15 each, and free shipping on orders of $50 or more.

Oozak, here I come!

Sorry that didn't work for you Barbara.
I would like to point out that Carpe Diem did NOT charge me and additional $1.75 per marker. (I don't know where you read that.) You also need to log in to CD to get the correct price and to place an order. I got my markers three days after I ordered them and the shipping was indeed free! No additional charge!

I just received my order from Carpe Diem and there were no extra $1.75 charges. Just the sales price for the Sketch and free shipping. I've placed a number of orders from them and nothing but great service. So sorry it didn't work out well for you.

I didn't say an extra $1.75 per marker!

They say quite clearly on their site: "All free shipping orders will be charged $1.75 for signature on delivery."

I'll bet if you check your numbers, you'll see there is an additional $1.75 charge on the order.

Okay, I've placed a lot of orders with Carpe Diem Store and have never been charged for this. It may be something new, but if you read the whole page, this fee is ONLY if YOU require a signature when you items are delivered. This is to protect you and your package. If for some reason something happens to your package, then the carrier can trace the package through the signature for the delivery. This may be something that FedEx requires.

Sorry, no. The emails I receive from them advertising sales say that they'll charge the $1.75 on all free shipping orders. NO EXCEPTIONS [caps mine]. Their website also says $1.75 on all free shipping orders. The one time I ordered from them successfully, they DID charge me the $1.75, and that was several months ago (maybe a year or more).

OK, I'm finished posting to this thread. It's just darned frustrating to me that everyone else loves them and has no problem ordering from them, and isn't charged the mandatory $1.75 fee. They must just not like me.

I have had the same problems at CarpDiem that Barbara is experiencing...I too got a long detailed email on how to place an order...I dont think I am stupid but I could not place the order. The website kept telling me my cart was empty. I would have loved to use them! I have subsequently placed two orders with Oozak.com: 'eCustomer' Service at it's BEST! and been extremely happy with everything about them. The shipping is amazingly fast.
blessings.

Hi Everyone, I don't know what happened but I stopped getting updates to the thread here.

I stopped by to share some videos I made today and have now seen I have missed a lot!

"Hi Lori!!"

hmmm... It seems I might have to see what the shipping is like to Australia on those copics! VERY good prices.

Anyhow... here's the link to the videos. I hope you enjoy them.

Oh wow, thank you so much for the feedback ladies. I am hoping to do more like this one where you can watch the whole process rather then me trying to think up something to video then stressing trying to squeeze it all into 10 mins. If you ever have any questions I'll see if I can help.

oooo that's good news. Thanks!
I did notice some videos were coming out at 15mins recently and had wondered why they got 15 mins instead of 10.

No free shipping to Alaska. And I get that shipping "cannot be determined". Maybe they consider Alaska to be "International" shipping

That is Carpe Diem. I saw the $1.75 signature fee on the home page.

I have been reading back to around page 91 and am totally confused...Who is Michelle? Does Susan Dean have a website with her copic vids? Is bleeding through the cardstock good or bad??

I have a mix of different types of alcohol markers and they all seem to work fine with each other for blending but I am getting bleedthrough on the back of the card, which looks kind of pretty sometimes. I was drawing a winter sunset background last night while watching the actual sunset and found that the bleedthrough made the blending colors much easier. But I'm worried about wasting ink. Sooo...

I guess as long as I get the results I want then all is OK, but I'd rather not waste ink.

Thank you
Michelle - but not the Michelle you've been talking about

Not sure who Michelle is, but they may mean Marianne who is the original guru of Copic Markers. This is a link to her blog: www.ilikemarkers.blogspot.com

Also, if you go to the Copics FAQ site, you'll find a lot more information and she has links on the first page to many helpful sites.

Copic FAQ

And yes Suzanne Dean has a blog with lots of tutorials, links, and classes you can take. Here's the link to her.

Scrap Bitz

If you're using your markers correctly, you get bleed through on the back. That's okay and supposed to be that way.

Thank you for clearing that up - I was in information overload! The funny thing is I found Susan's blog earlier and had her tutorial page bookmarked, I haven't had time to really look it over and didn't know her name

Glad to help. There is a ton of information out there and takes a lot of time to sift through it all. Something that I'm still doing.

I LOVE Copics too! I just ordered 12 additional colors for my marker stash and I think I'm going to order the multi-liners for illustrations...starting with 3 sizes.

I was just looking at Carpediem's homepage. It says Copics are on clearance and to get them while you can.

I wonder why they are on clearance? If you have to get them while you can, does that mean they are not going to restock them? Things that make me go "Hmmm..."

Actually it says "Get them before they are Gone"

doesn't sound like they will be restocking them.

Customer Service
