I think it works not bad. I shaded with B40's.
I love your card. Left a comment on SCS. I'm so inspired by those of you who think outside the box when you're creating.

Default X-Press It Blending Card

Has anyone tried the new X-Press It Blending Card? I first read about it on Marianne Walker's blog, and finally ordered some. I hated to get 125 sheets of a new-to-me product, but Oozak had the best price by far, and they only sell it in full packages. It should be here in a few days. Supposedly it is the best for blending Copics and the reds don't bleed like they do on the Neenah paper.

Anyone try it yet?

I did buy some, but I haven't had the chance to work with it yet. I can't wait, and I hope it lives up to all it's hype.

I tried it. It does blend very easily but for the price I don't know how much I'll use it. I bought the $45 pack at oozak so it will last me a while (I don't make a lot of cards).

I have. I posted some information comparing it to other papers I use on my blog a few days ago. I also have some pictures. I am not an expert, but I liked it. It was very smooth. A little expensive, but I will probably use it, especially for things I cut out and pop up.

what colors did you get? I'm still trying to figure out the E's, Y's & R's for skin tones. Aren't Copics amazing? I love being able to paint!

Thanks for posting your comparison...it is one thing to hear from reps how great a product is, but it is also great to see someone just use it compared to other known products and see the results. Out of the 4 cardstock's you compared on your blog.. the Xpress It looked the smoothest and most vibrant to me. I bought a 10 sheet pack to try from All that Scraps today. Can't wait to get it!

Alaine, thanks for the comparison of the 4 papers. I found it VERY informative, and probably won't purchase the Copic paper. The X-press sounds interestring, and when I want to splurge (not on markers) will probably try some.

Does Ozzak have the best price, does anyone know?

Who is attending? It would be fun to get to know everybody in the few weeks before the course.

Default Question on changing nibs

Has anyone changed nibs on their Copics. When I first started buying Copics, I bought a dozen, or so, Original markers and I don't like them. I love my Sketch markers and would like to change the nibs on the Originals. Is it easy to do? Or is it easy to do it wrong and ruin the marker? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this. Thanks so much!!

It is super SUPER easy. I highly recommend that you have the Copic Tweezers to change out the nibs...otherwise you risk damage to the new nib when putting it in. That is really the only thing you can do wrong...pushing a nib in with your fingers or other tweezers and ruin it.

New to this site, and I guess still fairly new to copics. I've been using them for about 3 months now and am completely hooked. So much so that I have over 100 colors. Most of which were bought from Oozak. What a great site with great customer service. I'm also hooked on the Magnolia stamps and love coloring in these little cuties. I've never enjoyed coloring in stamped images until I discovered copic markers. I'm definetly hooked

Welcome to the local chapter of Copic Addicts! Aren't they fun?! Don't forget to checkout the U-TUBE for Copic tips on how to color. I especially appreciate Suzanne Dean's videos. Enjoy!

Stop by and check out Marianne's blog also. She's got some awesome tutorials and loads of information on there. http://ilikemarkers.blogspot.com/

I started out the way you did with a few that have grown over time into more that 200 sketch markers. I love them and I know eventually I'll end up with all of them. It is an addiction. I love coloring with them.

THanks I have checked out various tutorials, including those on youtube and some others. They have been very helpful. I don't think I will ever own all the marker, but probably close to 200 by the time I am done. I have a combination of sketch and ciao, trying to save money where I can. Unfortunately being in Canada, postage can get expensive.

Me too Sheri! I never liked coloring in stamped imaged until I started with copics! Now if I could just take my airbrush compressor out of the box and use it... I would be in business!

Hi

Can someone give me some info on Carpe Diem Store? I recently ordered some copics from them and though it's been nearly a week, I have not received a shipping notice. I did check the status on their site and up until a few minutes ago it was showing as processing. They are showing the shipping method as FEDEX, but I paid for priority mail. They do not provide a tracking number, either.

So, I guess my question is... is this their usual service?

Any help would be appreciated!

Toy, I haven't ordered from them, because of their name. Doesn't Carpe Diem mean "let the buyer beware"? Please let us know what happens.

Carpe Diem means "Sieze the Day". I believe you're thinking of Caveat Emptor. I only know that because my son was a National Honors student in Latin.

I'll definitely let you all know what happens. I ended up sending them an e-mail. They have been recommended many times in these forums, so we'll see

Thanks, Chris!

I have placed several orders from Carpe Diem Store over the last year and have had great service from them. I've always received email notification for the order, and shipment notification as well. There was only one time a couple Sketch markers were out of stock and they called me to ask if I wanted to substitute another color, or just skip those those two. And yes, you are right that carpe diem means "Seize the day".

I've also ordered from them a number of times and have always had good service. Not sure what the problem is this time. Hope you hear from them soon.

Just wanted to report that I did receive a response from my e-mail to Carpe Diem. They were super nice. It seems that any order under 18 copics goes USPS Priority. Over 18 goes FEDEX. They're not sure, but think someone just keyed it in wrong. They gave me a tracking number and my markers will be here today.

I was super impressed with the way they handled the inquiry. Their customer service is excellent. I will definitely use them again.

Glad you got a good response from them Holly!

I am SUPER EXCITED! Just got notice that I've been accepted into the Nov. 6 Copic Certification class in San Antonio! I am jumping up and down and can't wait! I didn't think I'd make it but I did.

I store mine horizontally. They fit into a storage system I have that sits on my work top. The storage bins have colour coded handles so I 'filed' the Copics into those bins. When I want a marker from the red family I just pull the red handle etc.

I have read everywhere that Memento Tuxedo Black is the best ink to use when working with Copics so that's what I use.

As for cardstock, I have Neenah Classic crest Solar White, Gina K Pure Luzury - a whole lot of 75 sheets and One Sheet Wonder,......none of which I have experimented with yet because I'm still using up some blending cardstock from a supplier here in Australia who said their cardstock was the best with Copics - but it wasn't!

Unfortunately here in Oz supplies of such stuff is very limited, we don't have a Michaels or Joannes or whatever (not that I know of anyway) so every so often I have to purchase from the US which is fine I guess if you want the proper stuff!

I love memento ink with copics, but some images need the detail you get with versafine, does versafine work with copics?
Thanks

I use Memento, Versafine, and Brilliance. They all work fine with Copics. I like Brilliance the most because it gives the sharpest image.

Default Question about multi-liners

Should my Copic brand multi-liners be stored horizontally or vertically? I can't find any information about them, so I'm wondering what you ladies know about it. Thanks.

According to Marianne Walker, the US rep for Copics, it doesn't matter how you store them. Just make sure the caps are on tight.

Are you referring to the X-Press It Blending Card? I ordered 100 sheets of the stuff, because I'd heard it was the best. I don't think it's any better than Neenah or GinaK. (Although the reds don't bleed on it like they do on Neenah.)

I've read that about the Copic markers, but I haven't seen anything about the multi-liner pens. Does it apply to them, too?

I store my multiliners horizontally. Just in case.
