Coloring on fabric

I am looking for the best method to color on fabric. My plan is to stamp an outline image on the fabric and I want to color it in. Any tried and true methods?

Here is a good video showing stamping on tea towels and coloring in with Copic markers by Suzanne Dean:

I've also used Bics and Sharpies to make simple designs on T-shirts for my granddaughters. They held up pretty well to washing, too.
