One of my Cat's Eye Fluid Chalk pads has come off of the base. It's part of a "Queue" set, and there's lots of ink left on it. I've used it mostly for inking edges of paper, and it has a lot of life left. Well, it did.:( I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a way to adhere the pad to the base again. I can think of a lot of things I would rather spend that $10 on than a new set of Cat's Eyes when they all have a lot of ink left! Thanks!!!!

I've heard that Crystal Effects will hold anything
I would contact Colorbox. They would want to know, and hopefully would reimburse you in some way for taking the time to contact them about their product problem. I would think they would replace the colour or the whole Queue, or refund your money. You could also return/exchange the Queue at the place you bought it.
I don't think there's any way to fix this cat's eye pad -- there's no adhesive out there that will be able to bind a damp foam pad to a piece of plastic, or if there is I don't think you'd be very happy with the results.
This has happened to several of my smaller inkpads... such a waste, as I have tried just about anything to get them to stay stuck and nothing works!!! I only buy large pads now.
Aww man, I hope this won't become common. My Dark Peony Cats Eye chalk ink came un-glued!! I've reached for it several times (cause I LOVE that color) only to remember I CAN'T use it. I haven't tried re-glueing it but have tried holding the pad with a baggie to ink up my stamp... don't try it.. you'll get ink everywhere!!! :(
I have 1 Queue. The pads are ok but the top lid is very loose!
Guess I'd better contact them.. geeze, I hate the hassle. *rolling eyes*

THis has always been a problem with the cat's eyes. Clearsnap has always said to use rubber cement to put them back together, or super glue if you have it. They used to say that when the pads are used in a way not originally intended, such as doing direct to paper, it puts stress on them that they weren't designed for. It's never been a problem for me to glue them back, though. Certainly less trouble than giving up my precious pads, lol!
Thanks for all of your responses! I'll try the super glue (if I have some) or Crystal Effects. I suppose inking the edge of paper would put extra stress on the pad compared to tapping it with a stamp; I guess I'll have to color the edges of my paper with less vigor!!!
I had some that did this and I contacted the company.I received an email back asking for upc #s (which I don't mind providing) but they said because they wern't familar with the product.That made me wonder if I had contacted the right company?
One of my favorite Petal Point pads just fell apart the other day too. It's really frustrating when you're right in the middle of a project, and you don't have another ink that's comparable in color. I'll try my Crystal Effects too.

Hey, I just saw an ad for Colorbox inks which promoted the inks use for dtp. They even sell a handle that clicks into the base of the ink pads so that you can spread the ink more evenly. I too have had this problem with their ink, and with SU's spots in Craft ink. I think it's the foam padding. I don't have this problem with spots with the linen base.

I received a brand new ColorBox Chalk Ink Pad from a vendor, and it was not attached. The vendor suggested I contact ColorBox directly and even gave me the name of a contact person at ColorBox. They ended up sending me another one and said they stand behind all their products. And they sent me a small gift for my troubles. Always contact the person from whom you purchased and also the maker. They want our business. Hoep this helps.
I bought a pkg of the dew drop inks and just opening it caused the pad to come off the base. I contacted colorbox and they replaced it. When I opened the rest they too fell off they were replaced. Hope that helps.
I just fixed a bunch of my Cat's Eye chalk pads last week with Gorilla Glue. Works great! But be careful not to use too much since the glue expands or you will seal the cover on (ask me how I know, lol).
If anyone else notices, the tops always fall off the "Queue" sets also. Key word here... Also. Ionly know the aadhesive must be super thick in nature so as not to be absorbed by the foam pad but applied super thinly. Or... true story, the lids won't fit. I had purchased a large # of these dew drops, cats eyes and queues at once, otherwise one set would have been education enough. Other Co.s have it together, this Co. Needs to certainly upgrade the product.
One added remark. The ink product itself is good. I love it. Love the colors. Love the way they make my cards look. Packaging though needs fixing is all.

I had one Chalk ink queue stack for a couple of years and I had a rubber band around it too! Never bought another one, though. They are too small and seem cheaply manufactured like so many things these days. I'm one that likes SU's large pads with their lids being connected to the base.
I have a rubber band around every single one I have!
So much for stacking them, right? And what do you do about the one w/o a lid? Or, when you say "every single one," do you mean every single stack instead of single items?
I'm just extra careful. Mind spend most of their lives in a drawer, so, if I put them away carefully, they sit cradled up against the corner of the drawer.
