Default Bigshot Not Working

I am having difficulty winding my bigshot. Sometimes it won't move, sometimes it moves with loud sharp noise. I think it needs oilling but I just oiled it a few months back. What kind of l lubricant do you gals use for your bigshot or cuttlebug machines?

It sounds like something might be stuck in your roller mechanism. How long have you had the machine? I would contact Sizzix - this doesn't sound like something that could be fixed from oiling it. If there is paper or a mini brad or a gem or something stuck in the roller mechanism then oiling won't help at all

I didn't know I was supposed to oil it
Where do you oil it? Do you remove the case to oil the handle attached to
the rollers ?

You don't need to oil it unless it is sticking. A little sewing machine oil on the roller, roll it through with the plates a couple times - wipe your plates down after each time you roll it through. When it doesn't get your plates moist anymore, you're good to go. Sewing machine oil - or baby oil - won't give you grease like WD40 or such.

Ladies.....I don't believe oiling a non-electric machine is necessary. What may be the problem is a build up of paper fibers in the rollers of the machine or even dust from just the air with the machine sitting.

I would turn the machine upside down and try to brush out anything that may have settled in the rollers.

If that doesn't work, I would call the manufacturer. Putting oil in the machine will only make a mess and transfer to your cutting materials.

For these machines, there is no "repair", only replacement.

Where can I get parts replacement? One of the roller is rusty that's why I have problem winding it. I don't wanna buy a new machine.

Contact sizzix directly, there have been several machines that they have had to send replacement gearsf or, it happened to a friend of mine stationed in the states, and she had no problem getting the parts for free, I'd ask, what would it hurt?
