Question BIG SHOT questions

I am getting ready to purchase the SU Big Shot. I have a couple of questions, and can't seem to find the answers anywhere.

1. When I purchase the BS, does it come with ANY dies?
2. If I purchase the decorative strip dies, can I just buy the Extended Cutting Pads (and use them for when I buy the bigger dies), or do I have to purchase the decorative strip spacers and the decorative strip cutting pads?

Maybe I just don't understand the whole Big Shot thing.

Thank you for your help and patience.

The extended cutting pads are certainly long enough for the decorative strip dies, but the dies are thin, so you need the thickness of the spacer. The multipurpose platform that comes with the Big Shot has the thickness you need, but it isn't long enough for the decorative strip (unless you were only cutting a portion of it at a time)

Yes, this is what I needed to know. I was thinking of starting with a regular die, and the decorative strip with the alphabet also. So, I wouldn't need to cut the whole strip at once, and can buy the spacer later. SWEET!

Thank you both so much!

I have the alphabet sets ( a couple ) don't use them much though. The grass strip and the waves I've used a lot.

Do you have your heart set on getting a SU Big Shot? If not you can save a little and get a Big Shot from ritzcamera.com or one of the other onlines sites. Sometimes they run specials on the Ebay Sizzix Outlet but I checked and there wasn't anything listed currently. I've not ordered from scrapbookingalley.com but I've read about it. Amazing enough their items look the same as ritzcamera.com except they offer free shipping on most items from what I see. joann.com and scrapyland.com also sell the Big Shot.

http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/EP...ellison-sizzix A lot of times they offer free shipping with $100 order.

Sizzix.com has some great prices on their clearance items fyi. You need to go to specials and then clearance to see the entire list. A lot of items are 70-80% off.

Have fun!

Check with your SU demonstrator as well, I know many (like myself) have their own personal BS promos.
