Big Shot Die-Cut Machine Using Bigz Dies

I just got my Big Shot and used the Top Note Bigz Die. My question - The Top Note cut out great on my paper, but on my cutting pad it also etched the pattern. It this OK? Did I do it right? I didn't think my cutting pad would get marked on my first try.

Yes you did it right. The cutting pads are going to get marks on them from repeated use. Just flip the pad each time you run your dies through the machine. Eventually you will have to replace them. The premium Crease Pad is also consumable.
