Attaching glass to glass??

What is the best adhesive to use to attach glass to glass. For instance I want to glue a candle stick to a plate to make a serving tray for the holidays. I tried 2 part epoxy last year and it fell apart. Would Gorilla glue work?

I am looking at the label on my tube of Amazing E-6000 adhesive. It says "Permanent bond on "Fabric, Wood, Metal, Glass, Ceramics and more."

I think you can find it at most craft stores, Mikes or Hobby Lobby here where I live.

I used it to attach magnets to flat glass marbles and it worked great.

I've heard that GE Silicone III (found with the caulk) will work. I was going to make some glass totems and this was what was recommended. So far I've only been able to find it at Lowe's. I haven't tried it yet -- have all the glass pieces.

On a side note, I recently saw something similar using a bowl. I've been visiting my local thrift store to pick up glass pieces. I also saw a candle holder done the same way.

In a test of different glues by Woodworking Magazine, Gorilla Glue came in dead last. I didn't need this article to tell me that. If you need industrial holding power, stick with E6000. It's worth the price!
