Default ATG Tape Gun Where to Buy???

I know this has been discussed before, but now I can't find it. Does anyone know where the best prices are for an ATG 714 tape gun? I was looking on ebay, but I want to make sure I purchase a new one and not one of the earlier ones which I know had a problem with them.

My next question is, I want the gun that holds the 1/4" tape, but can I buy the acid free tape in that size? I thought I read somewhere that the acid free tape only comes in the 1/2" size (I'm thinking the 1/2" size is the yellow one). I'm so confused!

My last question is where do you purchase the tape refills. I read on another thread that Michaels has it. Does Michaels have the ATG gun as well?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice

Default Gun

I just got mine this week and love it!

I have the ATG 714---I got it from WWW.APAKINC.COM This gun will only hold the 1/4" tape.

I have the 1/4" tape gold acid free tape from www.armelcompany.com I ordered a box of tape. So, if all goes right I should be set for quite awhile.

I couldn't get both of them from the same company because each one was out of the other product.

Shipping was very quick from both companies.

Have fun!

I'm thinking I want the same one as you got (ATG 714). I think the 1/2" size would be too big for me. I knew the 714 would only hold the 1/4" tape, but I wasn't sure if you could purchase the acid free tape in the 1/4" size. Thank you so much for you help I was so confused and I wanted to be sure I could use the acid free tape in the ATG 714 gun.

Default Oh...

my gun is red--the ATG 714---that's of course because I haven't had time to even consider altering it!!:p :p :p

I figured first off with the yellow one I wouldn't want to mess with the attachment to be able to use the 1/4" tape, so I'd probably end up with 2 guns. I also decided if I needed wider tape I'd just run 2 strips--

Hi Ginger, I was looking at the ATG guns online last night, so I'm probably going to end up getting one with in the next couple of days. I think the 1/2" would be too wide for when I'm making cards, but you know I never though to just use 2 strips if I wanted a wider piece of tape....duh...LOL I was wondering if some people ended up buying both sizes. Thanks for the tip; I guess I had a duh moment there for a second.

Default I did...

read some where that someone did have 2 guns because they didn't want to mess with changing the tape and using the adaptor. That would of so been me--I would of bought 2 and instead of changing the tape.

So--the 1/4" seems to be just fine.....

HTH,
Ginger

My husband ordered me one from here but then they sent me an email that said:

I have received the order you placed online. Currently 3M is out of stock of the 714 ATG applicator.

They have not given us an estimated date as to when they will be available.

If you are in need of a 1/4" applicator immediately we do have the 700 ATG applicator available as well as the 1/4" adapter. Please see the link below for product information.

Looks like I'm not getting this any time soon. They don't even tell you when they will be expecting more to arrive. I guess I'll have to call and find out. I just wanted to post here that I did buy one

Patty, I did the same thing today and was told it would be the first week of July before 3M has the 714 ATG available. So I cancelled my order.

I just started using the Glue Glider Max and it's a very nice adhesive. When I hang things up in the store I don't have to worry about embellishments falling off from the heat. I compared ATG vs. the Glue Glider at the CHA show in February. I thought the Glue Glider had a better refill because you can drop and load the adhesive vs. threading.

Okay ladies- after HOUUUURs of research I have figured it out- well atleast for my friends my self and my family- all nine of us are getting together and ordering from... WWW.CROPANDSTICK.COM. They have the BEST prices- yes, i know some of you were all for framingsupply but i found better prices here. On the gun and refill. BeSt part- I've spoken to them (little co. i believe 2 scrapin' ladies who have been cardmakers and scrapers for 20 plus years - as per their web site) and she was soooo friendly and helpful. I mean, I sent an email- the lady called me! In person! Long distance to my house! Twice now. She was very helpful and worked very hard making me happy and making sure their web site had the best prices. Oh yea they have binding machines, buttons, brads, jellies- great prices. and guess what- she knew what splitcoaststampers were! Now where are you gonna get that!

So main point: BEST prices, awesome service, fellow scrappers!!! www.crapandstick.com. And thank you to the scs who lead me to these ladies too;)

Hi, I found the link to cropandstick late yesterday afternoon and ordered the ATG 714, it didn't say it was out of stock or anything....we'll see if I actually get it. The price for the gun was $38....that's as good as anywhere else.

I received the same e-mail and went ahead and changed to the order to the 700 with the adapter. I'm working on figuring it all out.........I LOVE the ease of it, but there is definitely a learning curve involved.
