ATG Gold Tape help

i have commented so many times on this tape....i do love my gun, but the gold tape is horible, i am wondering if this is a joke someone is playing on me ...Could i have gotten really really bad no stick rolls....I am making water bottles for my friends wedding and this tape is not STICKING!!!
i have redone them 3 times because it just keeps falling off.....
i am rubbing the bone folder on the crease and litearlly covering the whole piece of cardstock with tape...i am on my THIRD roll ( this is how much i am using) and only have done 32 bottles

Is there a stronger tape..i dont care if it is acid free... Which Tape should i order.. I am just gonna cry!!!
i cant have these things fall apart!!!

My gold tape is really sticky (and really stinky! very strong odor!), but I have never tried to stick anything on plastic.

Does your gold tape stick paper on paper? (that would be my test for determining if the rolls you have are defective)

Is plastic one of the surfaces that it is recommended for? (just askin'! wondering if there is something in the plastic that reacts with the glue)

Call 3M and ask them...I'm assuming they have a customer service line.

Last resort - switch to glue dots! ;)

My gold tape is very sticky. Once it is down, the only way to separate the two stuck together pieces of paper is to use the heat gun from behind. Maybe your tape got dried out??? I have had my for almost 2 years and have not had a problem- even with the tape that has hung around for awhile until I used it.

Ooooh - sorry for the hijack. But thanks to Kay for the tip about the heat gun. That's the only complaint I have about the ATG - there's no unsticking once I've set down the paper (even without burnishing it). I LOVE this tip.

And for the original question from vickey - I've gotta think you got a bad batch. This stuff STICKS and I've never used anything but the Gold tape.

I only have the gold tape and haven't had any problems either way. When I want it to stick it sticks.

When I need to take something apart, I can always do it with care. Once I get the pieces apart, all I have to do is to gently rub the tape and it comes up. I LOVE this tape!
