Default Anyone use eyeshadow as chalks?

In Target's Black Friday ad, for $10 they have an eyeshadow palette of 144 yummy colors (most I wouldn't wear on my eyes). Would be a very reasonable set of chalks if you could use them that way.

I tried using eyeshadow as chalks several years ago, and wasn't at all happy with the outcome. By the time you get the colors rubbed onto your image, they look too bland and washed out.

I love using eyeshadow. Of course eye shadow has additives in it so you don't want to use it in a scrapbook. Eyeshadow is mainly just mica. A lot of makeup junkies wear PearlEx on their eyes. You get a dramatic look for around $2. Can't beat that if your into cosmetics. Some of the crafters are making Glimmer Mists out of eye shadow. Grab you a couple of amazing colors at Dollar Tree to see if you like the look on paper. If not you can break it up and try using it in a Glimmer Mist recipe.

You can 'paint' with mica eyeshadows too. Adding water gives a stronger colour- same goes for your eyes! I'm with lylacfey about the glimmer mist idea too- works a treat!

If you google making glimmermist from eye shadow, you can find many videos on Youtube for making your own. There are quite a few different "recipes."

OT a little, but I use Pearl Ex as blusher. A lifetime supply for less than $5!

LOL about your blusher! Pearl Ex isn't cheap here in NZ,so I wouldn't use it that way myself. The Mica powder make-up stuff is expensive too,but would be great for coloring with
