Default anyone buy 'Cards' magazine

Atomicbutterfly was explaining a bit about Cards magazine to me....not really a magazine, but more of a glossy, thick, how-do book; you can get a subsciption to it....but I checked it and it is mucho expensive. Before I take the plunge, does anyone else buy this publication? (AtomicButterfly had several of her cards in the Dec. issue. Not surprising!!). I saw the cards in her gallery and thought the magazine must have good taste to publish her stuff.

I bought the first 2 issues, but didn't care for it. The format is beautiful, but not my style - also not much stamping.

It's a really beautiful magazine, I used to read it when I worked at my LSS but never bought it because I think it's WAY too expensive!! I'd rather spend my $$ on stamps

It is a beautiful magazine and I do like looking at it -- not much stamping in it though. If I buy it, I always wait and use a 50% coupon at my LSS.

the magazine isn't a lot of money when you figure it out you are paying about $8.00 for each book which has 195 pages the majority is all samples. And it tells you how they made the cards. I just bought a subscription for this in November was my first issue and you get a lot of samples. So for me 8.00 isn't a lot for each book when you think about it. People look at the subscription price and think that it's too much. for 6 months which is what I got to try out. I was actually thinking about the scrapbook strends magazine because I love the cards so much. SO I would say it's worth it.

Another reason I like it so much is because they use pattern papers, and if your like me and need help using pattern paper then you won't have a problem using this book. It only takes a little piece to make something really wonderful.

Default Anyone buy "Cards" magazine

Yes, I just subscribed today! I opened my email, and they offered it $10 off, so I got it for $49.95. Love the size of the magazine, and love flipping through seeing the card samples and being inspired!

I've looked through it at Michael's but have never bought it --it's $20!! Yikes!! And, I always say I'm going to use a coupon to buy it --but there are so many other things I "need", LOL!

I subscribed. I was lucky enough to find Christmas and Valentines at HL after the holiday for 66% off and got hooked. They have really pretty cards and I did see the SU cards from the SCStamper and tagged them. I probably won't renew because it is pretty expensive.

I have a subscription. Although it is light on the stamping, I like that it uses many other things. I have tons and tons and tons of embellishments and find myself using the same ones over and over and ignoring the rest. This mag makes me think outside of my own stamping box. Plus, I have to admit, the quality of the mag is really good. The paper is thick adn glossy and it really is like buying a heavy weight paperback book on cardmaking.

Beautiful photography, easy to follow instructions.

Basically geared to those who prefer to make cards using scrapbook materials, vs. stamping.

If they ever reach a point where there's more of a 50/50 balance between cards made with sb materials AND cards where stamping is the focus, I would probably subscribe to it because they really are lovely, lovely publications . . .

I'll admit, it packs a hefty price tag when buying off the rack . . .

I love the magazine! The quality of the photos is so clear and good. I also like the quality of the book itself. The size is perfect for adding to my shelf and also it is like a book and not a magazine so it holds up well, even after lending it out to friends.

I also like it for they hardly have any ads that are wasted space a lot of the time to me but that makes it more expensive. I also like their feature each issue that focuses on one company. I have bought several times after reading about certain products in those pages.

Finally, I also subscribe to other card mags. which I enjoy also. They are all a little different but the photos and cards seem to be the clearest in Cards. I enjoy it and look forward to each issue.

I was reading this thread and though that this magazine sounded interesting. I was wondering if anyone has the web address for this magazine, I'd like to check it out. I saw a couple of sites when I googled "cards" magazine, but I'm not sure if any are the one you are talking about. Thanks!!

I used to buy regularly when they were released every other month. Now that it's a monthly publication I've stopped buying. The cards are beautiful and I love their use of patterned paper but I'd rather use the $$ on other things.

I subscribe - but I am kind of ticked at them right now. I never did receive the December issue (I got October, November and January). I have e-mailed numerous times to see if I can get a Decemeber issue sent (it is the Christmas issue and the main reason I signed up) but I haven't gotten a reply... maybe my issue is in the mail??? We'll see. I don't think that I will be renewing my subscription though - not enough stamping.
