Default Accuquilt and Cuttlebug??

My sister is looking into getting the Accuquilt system for die cutting fabric but it's pretty pricey. Does anybody know if you can use their dies in the Cuttlebug, a MUCH more reasonable machine?? I know that the Accuquilt is for LARGE dies but they also have smaller dies that I think would work in the cuttlebug. Anybody??

I know that you can cut fabric with the dies from sizzix because I have done it. I would look at those becuase I know they work in cuttlebug as well or she could look into a big shot which is obviously a lot cheaper than the accuquilt machine.

I don't have this machine, but I've been researching it and the Grandemark for a few weeks and I am almost certain that the Accuquilt dies will not fit in the cuttlebug. The accuquilt and other accucut dies are built for the commercial quality machines from accucut and ellison, and not home consumer machines (cuttlebug, big kick, etc). They are a different thickness and I just don't think they'd go through, and even the smallest of the Accuquilt dies would probably be too big.

Accuquilt seems like such a great system. You know they have a smaller, portable version for the Accuquilt dies as well right? I know it's still pretty pricey though. Has she contacted a local quilt shop to see if they carry it?

Cool

Looks like a nice system, but I was shocked at the price of it. Would sure help the developing arthritis in my hands, that is one reason I kind of back away from detailed sewing projects, the hours of cutting.

I just looked at two basic dies (square and triangle) and the website says the dies are 6.5" square, so that is too wide for the Cuttlebug. HTH.

Some of the accucut dies will fit in the Cuttlebug; however the bigshot is a little wider. Accucut dies are the thicker wood dies. It would really depend on the size of the dies they have them from small to large to jumbo to giant! HTH!
