I must be doing something wrong. I have a few folders and they are cutting through the paper as well as embossing. Is it the paper? Most of what I have right now is basic from Micheal's. Any suggestions? Thanks!
What kind of sandwich are you using? If your plates are too thick it could be putting too much pressure on the folder, causing it to press the paper too hard. I use A plate, B plate, embossing folder with cardstock, then my other B plate and it works great.

I am using them just like this.
Hmmm, I guess I will play around more with different types of paper. I was kind of surprised to realize that some paper is not 100% that color. I was using a pink sheet and the center came through white.

<smile> THEN ... pick up a piece of fine sandpaper and gently sandpaper more of the pink off! I've used this technique many times on foil paper as well as colored card stock.
I've used all kinds of cardstock, but I don't like CTMHs paper unless I'm planning on distressing it because it has a white core. The pressure of putting it through the Cuttlebug makes the white show through.
I just bought the Cuttlebug today. When I came home I was try'n it out with some printer paper and it ripped that paper. I tried it again with some white GP cs from Wallyworld and it worked fine...seems like the paper was just to thin.
