Can anyone tell the name of the kind of alcohol you get to revive your Spectrum Noir Pens? I tried it before and it works but can't for the life of me remember the name. My pens need help Thank so much

I was so disappointed yesterday when I tried to use 3 of my spectrums and they were dried out. I will have to pick up some denatured alcohol.
I had the same thing happen within 3-4 months of purchasing the Spectrum skin tone package. Not only were they dried out, but the ink in one of them was used up. No excessive use and stored properly. I contacted them via website three times, no response. I won't buy SN again. I bought my Bic markers at the same time as the Spectrums, Bics are going strong with the exception of a green one that got lots and lots of use during Christmas!
The alcohol works well to refresh as long as there is still ink. I also used a needle/syringe to refresh my green Bic. works like a charm now.
You can also use ethanol - it's the same as denatured alcohol. The only difference is that they put poison in denatured alcohol to keep people from drinking it. The Copic blending solution is ethanol.

Denatured Alcohol. I got mine at Lowes in the paint section. Sadly, I saw no results with my Spectrum Noirs. I'm sticking to prismacolor.
(oh man! I totally anticipated that thread wrong...I read 'what kind of alcohol' and my brain finished off ' do you like'...to which I was going to reply...PIMMS )

I'm a little late to reply, but I called the number on the back of the spectrum noir package. I told them I purchased the "6 packs" and had 7 markers that needed to be replaced. I gave them the numbers and they mailed the replacements.
You can replace your bic markers individually. When I replaced some of mine they were $1 each.

Good to know! I've searched high and low for a replacement for my favorite green Bic, and haven't found anything in ANY marker that I like as well! I'll have to contact them and get a few to have on hand...
This is the number from the spectrum noir website, not sure if that is the same as I called. (I think I have a package at home if this doesn't work.)

Try shopbic.com for individual markers.
All 36 colors are available, but they are separated into 3 sets.
To refresh with the denatured alcohol, remove nib, if possible and use an eye dropper to add 5-10 drops of alcohol. Leave the pen laying horizontally for at l0 minutes for the alcohol to soak into nibs.
You can buy an insulin syringe at a drug store. Fill the syringe with the alcohol and insert into marker nib. Of course it only works with the regular pens. To my knowledge, the fine tips can't be refilled.
You need the needle and syringe for a Bic marker. The nib doesn't pull out. I tried soaking one of my old markers as an alternative. The marker absorbed the alcohol, of air bubbles because it was so dry. But it dilutes the ink, so not effective.
