I have seen a lot of tutorials call for versamark clear ink. Just curious as to what the difference is vs any other clear embossing ink? I have several other brands including Tim Holtz.
I prefer to use the color of ink that I want to see rather than use Versamark and colored Embossing powder. That way if you miss a little piece of it you will still have color - it won't be so noticeable. And, you can usually use clear ep which is also better IMO because if you get random flecks on your project, they won't be as noticeable either. Now, I think that you can use versamark and dye inks together - haven't done that.
The main difference is that with the Versamark you can get what is called a 'watermark' print. That is, if you stamp the image with Versamark onto coloured cardstock, your image will dry to a different shade of the cardstock, sort of shade on shade, if you follow me. As far as using them both for covering with embossing powder, then there is no difference. They will both do exactly the same job. Its only the 'watermark' thing that is different.
Most clear embossing inks will leave the watermark. I have some old TopBoss clear ink and it does the same as the Versamark. As long as it's clear 'embossing' ink, you should see the same results.

I think I posted this on the wrong thread. SORRY!!!

I use Versamark and dye inks together all the time. It turns out quite nice.
