Question versamagic

Hi Everyone,
Would someone explain what versamagic is and how you "work " with it? Is it like a liquid chalk, a paste or like a mini liquid stamp pad ( if that makes sense). How do you apply it and work with it? Do you use a brush, or q-tip or just your finger? I wanted to try and make coasters and I wanted something to "color" in the stamp image other than sharpies. Any help you can give me would be great. Any tips will be most welcome. Thanks so much

Here is a link to an online store for the Versamagic ink pads. The blurb says that Versamagic is a chalk pigment ink. Chalk inks definitely have a different look that regular pigment ink. You might want to get one or two colors just to try them out.

Also, go to the gallery and do a search for coasters. Hopefully you can find what kind of ink other folks are using.

Thanks for the reply and the site for the versamagic. Going to check out the site now and will look into the gallery to see if I can pick up some tips too.

I'm not familiar with Versamagic, but I know you can use a Versamarker and then the SU! Pastels to color in images on coasters--I've done that at a Stamp Camp and it worked really well.

This is another great idea--I do have a versamaker too!!! I just bought 4 coasters ( tiles from Lowe's) and I want to try to do it before I buy tons of tiles and then find out that I'm not as crafty as I hoped. Thanks for the advice.:-D

Versamagic is a pigment CHALK ink by Tsukineko.

The same company also makes VersaMark, which is a clear, watermarking ink.

Versamagic: colored, faster drying pigment ink (due to chalk-like formula), many beautiful shades. Can be thermal embossed if the pad is well inked, and you work fast.

Versamark: clear, creates an impression one shade darker than whatever color paper you stamped it on. Remains wet long enough to be thermal embossed as well. My preferred for embossing with opaque powders, clear powder, and sticky embossing powder. Must be embossed on vellum and other non-porous surfaces, or it will never dry.

HTH,
