Default So Excited

Lol it's a small win, but I restickyed my cricut mat for the first time! My mats usually last several months and I have never cleaned them. I was going to buy new ones and trash these, but thought it was worth a try.

It totally works!

Glad you did it! There are a number of ways to re-sticky them - I have had Cricuts for 8 years. I have probably purchased 6 mats. I don't generally replace them until they become warped and bent and generally beat up!

I have a cameo that I use cricket mats in. They are sturdier and cheaper.

I actually like the stickiness more than a new mat. For me new mats are too sticky. This is just the right amount of sticky without tearing the paper.

I've used a variety of ways to resticky my Cameo mats. First was to wash it in hot water and let it air dry. That works for awhile. Another way is to tape off the sides and spray a light adhesive on there (that was the original way, and UGH what a mess and pain!) The easiest way I've found is to scrape all the bits of paper off (Pampered Chef Stoneware scrapers work well, BTW!) then take a large ZIG 2-way glue (aka BLUE glue) and swipe it along the mat. Once it dries CLEAR, it's a temporary adhesive. I then take a towel and dab along the newly stickied mat to help it not be SO sticky.

What I did was use goo gone to get everything off. I masked the edges of mat and then painted it with a mixture of half tack it over and over and half water. There is a video on youtube that I will find and post when I get home.
