Should I get the watercolour crayons?
I have the pencils...but am tempted to buy the Watercolour Wonder crayons cause they match the colour families. What do you think? Easier to use than the pencil crayons? Do you like the look better?
Opinions please

I got rid of my watercolor pencils. I like the crayons better. I don't have the SU ones because I wanted a wider range of colors all in one set. I do use them a lot though.
Yes!! i only have the BB in the WWC but i absolutely love them. i will definetly be adding the rest to my collection in the future. they are super easy to use and i love how you can either get really rich color or just a hint depending on how much water you use or don't use. i used to want the pencils but i think i can live without them if i just get the rest of the crayons.

I used to love my watercolor pencils and blender pens. Now all I use is the WC crayons and aqua painters. There is so much more you can do with the crayons and they blend so much better.
My demo prepared several projects for us using WC crayons in different ways for our Stamp Club and I'm hooked. I like that you can use the aqua painter on the flat end of the crayon and save the pointed end for coloring. I like SU's sharpener for these, too. I'm working toward having all of the color families this summer.. So far I just have RR.
I used to use the pencils all of the time, now it's all about the crayons! I used my pencils today, for the first time in a while, because I was gettting some projects ready for a kindergarten stamping party. I love my crayons so much more! But no way am I letting the kindergartners near them!

Thanks I don't need much to be enabled I think I will buy a couple families with my next order (SS and EE)
I love mine, am very wc challenged and can do a decent job with them. I love the SS, but they are very light, you may be happier if you start with the RR instead, unless you are a die hard SS girl.
Love the crayons too. I have the SU watercolor pencils and another tin from a different manufacturer so I figured I didn't need more watercolor stuff.... boy was I wrong!! The crayons are the best!!!
I love them too, but I find, if I want to match colors, the inks from the pad lids work well too. The WWC blend SOOOO nicely though, and you really don't see lines if you are mixing colors!!
I agree with the previous posts -- I really like them, especially the fact that they match the SU paper, so everything is coordinated. I think the key is to do your watercoloring on the right paper -- watercolor paper or shimmery white work really well.
Here are some techniques recently posted by PatPie:
When you use the AquaPainter, either brush the AquaPainter directly against the crayon, then use as a paintbrush. OR color with the crayon directly on the paper (you've probably stamped an image on the cs LOL) then use the AquaPainter to blend the color.
Here's some other ideas I got from a fellow stamper. Probably someone here at SCS...... but I am bad at remembering stuff like that. Sorry!!
-Embossing with WWC- Stamp an outline type stamp using StazOn. Color the image with crayons. Use the VersaMarker pen to blend. Sprinkle with a "clearish" embossing powder (Irridescent Ice or Hologram Highlights are cool) and heat emboss.
-Baby Wipe- Color directly on the stamp, stamp quickly onto a moist baby wipe. Then stamp on your card stock. This works best with stamps that have some texture such as Burst into Bloom or Heartfelt Thanks. It also helps control the amount of moisture that's getting on the stamp. When I mist them with water sometimes I put on too much water and all I get is ugly!
-Color directly onto your stamp. Mist the cs with water. Stamp onto the moist cs. Hold the stamp onto the damp paper for a few seconds to get a better transfer.
-Use a ruler or graph to draw lines with your crayons (or do freehand). Then use a wide, wet paintbrush (or AquaPainter) to blend the colors. Make some lines thicker than others, and start with the lightest color first.
-Color directly on a solid stamp with the WWC, then take a darker color crayon and outline the image. Get the stamp wet and stamp onto your cs.
-Get a small container and scrape off some crayon into it. Add water to make the crayon mushy (this takes a few minutes). Then add PearlEx (a similar color works best) and mix. Paint onto your stamp, then stamp on cs.

i have only used them one time at a card club and i would really like to have them. there were several of us girls at club that fell in love with the crayons.
I just ordered this weekend, and ordered the RR and BB. We used them at a hostess club last week, and they are so awesome! We also used the pencils, but the crayons were much easier to blend and gave much more of a true watercolor effect. I can't wait to get them! I am planning on getting the others eventually.
Yes! Get them! I really like them. I love the fact that the colors match, and I have needed that so often. Also, the pencils don't have blush blossom and I use it for caucasian skin tones and for adding color when white is too "unfinished" looking but you just want a touch of color, like on the face of the ladybug from Very Punny. There are nice colors for shading and adding a ground under your stamped images so they don't look like they are floating. Plus you can float in a background color. They are loads of fun!

We are busy with graduation. But as soon as things calm down, I plan on getting my toys out and just creating. I haven't used the wwc or pencils much lately.
