I just found this at my LSS yesterday - gorgeous!
Soft & rich colours.

I bought some for my Gingerbread men chipboard.
Makes stunning Christmas cards, too!

Are they soft and fuzzy or just rich in color? I'm thinking of putting reindeers on some cards and fuzzy paper might be cool.

You know I've had some of this since it was a new product and had forgotten about it . I'll have to break it out and play thanks for the reminder.

I loved some velvet paper I found online a few years ago, but they only sold it in a very few colors. I used every scrap. This year I was looking for a larger size (8.5 X 11) and different colors for a few projects I have. Love the web! SEI has a webstore and I found all the colors I wanted and in two sizes. I'm in heaven! Great service and better pricing, exactly what I ordered and pretty fair shipping time during the holidays too. Shop SEI

Has anyone cut this with a Cricut? If so, what were your settings? I have some that I bought at CKC a year or so ago -- they had great package prices on smaller pieces (maybe 4 x 10) and I bought a bunch.

I stopped in at my LSS on friday and found some gorgeous velvet paper so I bought a few pieces. We made a poinsettia at our last card class and it was so beautiful, I couldn't get over the feel of the velvet paper. We stamped the poinsettia on the backside of the paper and hand cut out the pieces and glued to the card. It was so pretty! I wouldn't have the heart to put it in an envelope, though!

I"ve used my Cricut to cut the velvet many times and LOVE it! You can also get a really neat effect by using an embossing folder on the velvet after cutting. I found a 2-layer butterfly packeage from SVG Cuts and used velvet for the top layer and shimmer paper for the bottom. I really like the way they turn out.

My settings are: blade depth - 5, pressure - high, and the speed is slowest because the pattern is fairly detailed. I cut them at 3" and they work perfectly for my cards. I should mention though that my Cricut seems to need higher settings than some machines. Test it first.
