Last weekend we made a trip to Springfield, MO (about 100 miles from home) to go to the Fall Classic at Bass Pro Shop. I dropped off my hubby and son and went across the street to a scrapbook store and as I was walking around I noticed rolls and rolls of wonderful stitched ribbon ~ I was in heaven! The single stitched ribbon was only .59 cents a yard and the double stitched was .89 cents. I got some white rick rack that was .59 cents a yard too. I got narrow Organdy ribbon in baby pink and blue, plus some dark hunter green and red and they too were only .59 cents a yard. The polka dotted ribbon I got at Walmart and I can't remember how much it was.
After shopping at the scrapbook store, I went back across the street to BPS and we went to the outlet store and bought the big plastic fishing lure box for only $3.00! I filled this whole box, including box, with three yards of ribbon each ~ for less than $50.
I just put it all in the box today and my hubby even says that it looks great and so easy to see which one that I want to use.. plus it keeps it nice and clean.
Okay, this is off the subject a little. Is the scrapbook store directly across the street from the BPS? Could you possible give me the name of it so that I can find out its hours. I will be up there in October and would love to go shopping while DH shops at BPS. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Sherrie... the shop is across the street from BPS. I tried to scribble a map showing how to get there... From the front of BPS, I go to the end of the building heading towards the Wonders of Wildlife building, taking a left at the end of BPS, then taking a right turn behind WOW... you will see the shop across the street.. you just cross over Sunshine turning out of the BPS parking to the left and then taking the first right and right again into the parking lot of the store. I called the number and got the hours for you ~ it's on this map I wrote out for you.. hope that helps.. have fun.
Before you go into the Big BPS store... go to the Outlet store that is to the left of the big building.. you can find deals in there that are cheaper than in the big store just because they got too much of it.
Pam,
Thank you for the directions. I am sorry that it has taken me so long to look back. When I told my husband that there was a scrapbook store by the BPS he just rolled his eyes. I told him that I would be going to the scrapbook store after making a quick trip thru BPS. Thanks for all of your help. I can not wait.
Sherrie

The little bitty spools of ribbon you can by at Michaels or even WalMart will also fit in those tackle boxes. My dad brought back a bunch for me from BPS, actually I think mine are by Remington...so ammo boxes. But they work great!

My brain got to turnin' a bit . . . I wonder if you could drill holes into the lid directly above the center of each compartment, and then pull the ribbon through for dispensing--that way you wouldn't hafta open the lid every time to access the ribbon . . . hmmmmmmmmm.
Is that a dumb idea or a good one? Anybody ever try it?

It works. I did that for my ribbons but I used a spinner bait lure box....so the ribbons are laying between the dividers and I just yoink the one out that I need. They do tend to get a titch tangled sometimes tho. ;)
