Default Re: nestability question

I have been comissioned to make some silk flower pens with tags attached and each guests name on the tag (for a bridal shower of about 45 people) The flower in essence is serving as the place card at the table. I want to cut each tag with my nestabilities using one of the tag dies. How do I go about setting up something on my computer to print out each guests name on cardstock and allow room after printing to cut out each name with the tag die. I am not that skilled at word processing. What suggestions do you have on making this task not take forever? Hope this makes sense?

I'm not skilled with using programs for things like this either. I have Microsoft Word on my computer, and that's what I use for anything I need to create.

When I have a project like yours, I usually just type whatever I want,
names, sentiments, etc. and try to space it as correctly as I can. I use Print Preview to see what it looks like with the spacing I've used. Then I print it on printer paper and "try" it out with the die I want to use.

If I need to make adjustments for the spacing, I do so, and do a trial run again on printer paper.

For dies like tags, you would probably want to use the "columns" format and choose two columns. The columns button should be on the toolbar in your word processing program, if you are using Microsoft Word.

It's really just trial and error. I do this all the time and have to make a new file each time depending on the die/punch I'm using and the words I'm trying to fit.

I would probably try using a table. Set it up so that your table cells are just a little bigger all round than the size of the die you'll be using (in Word, you can specify how big a table cell should be by going to the "Table Properties" menu once you've inserted a table into your document and then click on the "rows" tab and enter a height for the row and the "coloumns" tab and enter a width for the columns). Then enter each guest's name in a new cell in the table and print out. I'd do it on regular copy paper first to check the spacing rather than wasting good cardstock.

HTH!

I know you asked about a template for nestabillities but here is one for the tag punch.

If you have any printable labels, I would try and see which one would provide you the best spacing to cut, and use that template to run a tester. Unfortunately this kind of stuff is trial and error.
