It seems from reading that there is a way to change the setting from "cut" to "draw/emboss". How exactly do you do this? It seems there is a need to "calibrate" the machine by using a certain design card? I am not really understanding all this. Thanks for your help!
ok, to do this, insert any card into the machine and turn it on.
then press the right single arrow key until "settings" is highlighted. press select, then press the double right arrow key until your screen reads "cutting mode" , then press the right single arrow button again til it reads "emboss/drawing".
press menu.
i have never embossed yet, but you may also want to set the machine speed to medium or low too. just follow the above instructions til you see the "speed " settings screen and press the double arrow to change.
we also have a great "sticky" here on the boards for the Slice, lots of great info there
come on over and join us. its right here in tools&product talk
I discovered, thanks to lots of help from the Slice thread stuck to the top, that the embossing tips have to be tightly set in the housing. I was surprised at how tight I had to turn the little nib thing. I wasn't getting any impression and kept loosening the tip, thinking it needed to be lower, but tightening did the trick.
