I'm wanting to purchase a label maker and don't want to spend a fortune. I would like your advice on what kind of label maker to purchase, if you have one and if you like it.
Thanks for your imput.
I really like my Brother PT80 ... easy to use, lots of features ... but the refills are expensive ... well, they are expensive in Canada ... I bought some refills on ebay and even with shipping they were a GREAT price compared to what I would have paid here!
You can check out the Dymo website - I think they tell the features of the various ones there. I have the Dymo LetraTag QX50 that I got as a gift and I'm happy with it, but the top one on this page seems to have more fonts and stuff and is very little more money. I think it uses the same refills that mine does. They're only $7 for 2 at Walmart or Target. But you also have to figure how many feet the refills are.
I have a friend who has a Brother that's quite complicated - once she figured it out, she loves it, but the refills are $20! But it might make lots more labels. I labeled my stamp sets with mine and I LOVE to be able to see at a quick glance what is where! I have labels I printed out that have the stamp set name, item number, number of stamps in set, price, etc, etc, but it's harder to see the name of the stamp set. So I have those labels on one end and the bigger label with just the name on the other end.

I have a DYMO Letratag, too. I really like it. I like that I can get refills cheaply at Walmart. It doesn't have lots of font choices, but I really just wanted something basic. I got mine last January, and I have definitely been happy with it.
Another Letra Tag QX50 user who is very satisfied. I got it Office Depot for 19.95 I think. Refills are readily available and not expensive. I even saw (and bought) some tape that is magnetic - thought it was cool, don't know how I'll use it, but had to have it!
I also have the DYMO LetraTag and love it. Michael's carries the refills in a 2 pack for $6.99 and if you don't have anything more expensive to use your coupons on, you can get the labels even cheaper!
I love my Brother PT80. great price, very versatile and i use it in so many ways in my stamp room.
This is the one I had, my mom gifted it to me for Christmas, I use it constantly, my latest was to label all my ribbon cards with what color ribbon was on them, so I know when I need more! LOVE IT! It works great. Refills are like 10 dollars for me here, but they last forever!

I purchased the Dymo Letratag the other day. It printed fine for a few labels but now it looks like the ink is running out, or poor print quality. Plugged it in, still poor quality, changed the cartridge, same thing.
You must have a bad one because I have had mine for almost 3 years and have made hundreds of labels and it still prints fine - I have at least 2 labels on every stamp set I own (over 100), all my inks, each color in my paper racks, my file folders, etc.!
