How do you use this tool? Do you need a cutting mat and straight edge or what?

Hi Leah!

You do need a cutting mat, the blades are very sharp. I can't cut a straight line to save my life, so I use a ruler or some sort of a guide.

The cutter is great for making wavy lines where you don't WANT it to be straight. But yeah, if you want straight lines then use a ruler as a guide (like when perforating for coupon booklets or scoring folds).

It also has a distressing tool on it (no cutting mat required). Just run it back and forth on the edge of your CS. I use it a lot!

I love my cutting kit!!! Use the distressing tool 90% of the time on cards and have starting using the perforating tool more. IMHO it's well worth the cost.
